Into the chute
Sep. 12th, 2004 05:52 pm9/11 still holds some impact, or something. When I saw the list of activities that were happening to commemorate 9/11, I had an impulse to go, but I had a voice lesson up in the City. Traffic and ridership on BART were unusually light, so I wonder if people were staying home?
Anyway, I seem to have accomplished more than I realized last weekend. Part of the problem that I've been having with organizing is that so much needs to get done that I get overwhelmed. However, I got enough done last weekend that part of the place looks almost decent, and now I'm having a tough time stopping myself from working on the place. Hopefully, I'll keep it up.
All hell is starting to break loose at work. I was pulled off to work on another project, but the team leader on the project that I normally work on was bitching about the time that I spent on the other project. The manager, on the other hand, dinged me for not volunteering to work on the other project. I'm getting some pressure from both sides to work more overtime. And it's only September; I don't think that we're going to make it to December.
Nonetheless, I'm trying to work out what lessons I will take this fall even though I'm feeling somewhat intimidated now. I've decided not to take the posture class because it's a long drive away and it's expensive. I'll see what I can do with some books that I have and with yoga.
I have decided to take a introductory yoga class. I've decided to take it at a yoga studio in Campbell rather than at the Y because the yoga studio offers additional classes that intrigue me. ("Yoga for relaxation" early Friday evening sounds wonderful!)
The question is whether I take an Italian class or not. It's fairly close by--in Willow Glen--but it's a two hour class. I'd enjoy taking the class and enjoy spending time in Willow Glen, but I'm wondering if I should keep the day free. On the other other hand, I can work really late on Thursday nights. If I didn't take the class, I'd work on German (self-study). I'd also work on Latin (self-study) either with the Italian or the German.
I really want to take the class. I need to make a quick decision because it starts next week.
I decided to wait until after we ship the next release to take piano lessons.
The rest of my lineup is my guitar lessons (which will start up again in October), voice lessons, and Alexander Technique.
