Posty-Mc-Posts-A-Lot....(Corto, your influence is everywhere -;)) I've been enjoying my little garden on my patio. I want to share a pic of a planter that I really like:

I want to play around with making flower arrangements of silk flowers indoors. (My cats would have way too much fun playing with real flowers if I brought them indoors.)

Speaking of cats and plants, I bought the cats some cat grass. Harlee was mesmerized by it and kept on munching on it. Nima kept on knocking it over, so I confiscated it. Then I forgot about the plant and almost killed it. Must get more.

Nice planter. I'll be happy when I can have a garden again.

I used to get the trays of cat grass that contain seed, vermiculite and the poly whatever that retains water. You open them, add water, and wait for the grass to get a couple of inches high before letting the katz at them.

[livejournal.com profile] heath bought a big bag of wheat seeds and gave me some. I take the plastic trays of dead cat grass, let them dry out and remove the dried grass. Then I add a tablespoon or 1 1/2 Tbl of seeds to the dry mix, put it back in a tray and add the water. It works really well and costs next to nothing compared to buying the stupid trays. I made a frame of 2x4 pieces to drop the trays in and put that in a shallow pan so the katz won't puncture the plastic or drag the tray all over.

The downside is that the katz expect fresh cat grass all the time now ;)

I was wondering how to weight the cat grass down so that the cats don't knock it over. Thanks for the suggestion.
