Harry Potter
Dec. 29th, 2005 12:40 amAs I previously said, I had lofty plans for the Christmas weekend. Instead, I slept a ton (and undid much of the work that I've done to get back on a daytime schedule--way to go, Adrienne) and read Harry Potter.
I read the first Harry Potter book at one sitting (it's a fast read, not surprisingly) on Christmas Day. Then I found myself rereading parts of it because I couldn't get the next book. Now I've got the second through fifth books.
I swear they're pure crack. Several times I've said that I was going to read for "a few minutes" and found myself still reading a half hour later, or worse. I want to get some stuff done over New Year's weekend, so maybe I'll put the books in the car -;)
The friend with whom I saw the Harry Potter movie will be pleased. He's been trying to get me to read the books for years.
While I was Christmas shopping on Thanksgiving week, I found some 2006 calendars for work and home. I remember putting them in a safe place where the cats couldn't get at them, and they wouldn't get banged around.
And now, of course, I can't find them. I've got the decorating bug at work (have an Amaryllis and a Poinsetta on my desk) and would like to bring the calendar in.
I guess after I put the Harry Potter books in the car, I'll tear the place apart looking for the calendars.
And finally, here's a link to a Celtic blessing that I like. (Interesting that I've seen several different versions of it.) "May the blessing of light be on you...."
