I guess that it's summer

days_unfoldingIt hit 91 degrees inside my condo today (well, yesterday). (Mom, if you want to change your mind about coming out next week, now's your chance.)
Someone on the Internet wrote about the "cat thermometer": curled-up cats mean that it's cold and stretched-out cats mean that it's warm. Well, my three were stretched waaaaaay long on the floor. They're savvy enough to stay down on the floor. I was a little concerned because Nima had the dry heaves, but knowing Nima, she probably ate something that didn't agree with her. I've been encouraging the cats to drink extra water, but they've been looking at me like I'm insane.
I'm pleased that I've managed to get stuff done despite the heat. I felt a little guilty when I left the cats in the warm condo when I went to get something to eat in air-conditioned comfort. Now it's down to 89 degrees, and it's not bad with the fan on.
My mom is coming into town on Monday and staying for a week and a half. We're going to head to the Wine Country during part of the time. Right now, I'm using my mom's visit as incentive to get stuff done around here.
