We're under a heat advisory. Yesterday it was 91 degrees in my condo, and today it's 93 (and counting?).

I've been feeding the kitties canned food to help hydrate them (which they love) and giving them fresh water twice a day. I have the fans on in the living room and office. They're coping.

As for me, I've been concentrating on sitting still doing stuff on my computer and in the breeze of my fan. I've been avoiding unpacking boxes because I'd have to run all over the place putting things away. Luckily, I have a lot of stuff to do on my computer. There is an unemployment center near downtown San Jose that has computers and printers, and no doubt has air conditioning, but I've been trying to tough it out here.

I've been eating dinner out, which helps. I read in Fresno that being in air conditioning even part of the time helps because it gives your system a chance to cool down. However, living in Fresno without air conditioning is insane--today, it's 109 degrees there. Living in San Jose without air conditioning is merely annoying.

I've been feeling some "bad weather virtue" from toughing out the heat. Back in Chicago, people claimed that the lousy weather (and believe me, Chicago has lousy weather!) developed character. So I guess that the kitties and I are a cast of characters -;)
