I guess that it's winter now

days_unfoldingAt 1:30 AM, it was 37 degrees out. I was worried about how low the temperature would drop by sunrise, so I ran outside and covered my plants. I ran outside without a coat and gasped when I came back in. I guess I have proof that my heat is indeed working because it would be a lot colder than 65 degrees in here if the heat wasn't working.
The kitties have taken to sleeping in the same bed. I guess they think of each other as each other's bedwarmer.
I hauled out my electric blanket, and it's been keeping me toasty warm. (My bedroom is about three degrees colder than the rest of the place because I keep my door closed.)
I'm mulling over building a fire in the fireplace, but I'd have to move some stuff first.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll make some tea.
I'm grateful for the ways to keep warm.
