Unsolved mystery

Tonight, shortly after my shower, I saw a brown blob on my bathroom floor. I looked more closely, and it turned out to be a snail, crawling through some water I dripped on the floor after my shower. A snail? How on earth did a snail get into my bathroom? The only thing that I could think of was that it hitched a ride on one of the boxes that I brought up from the garage, but that theory begs the question of how it got into the garage. I'm perplexed.

I picked up the snail and put it outside.
