Things are going well.
The kitties had a checkup and their shots, and I have vaccination certificates for them if I need to board them. I also asked about the health certificates that they need for air transport. I need to bring them back no more than 10 days before the flight for a checkup, and they'll fill out the certificates. That's it. The bit of bad news is that Harlee has gained a ton of weight--three pounds--which is a lot for a cat. Time to put her on a diet. I also need to get another carrier because I don't think hers supports a 16-pound cat (although it worked today).
I chose a mover. I decided on the Mayflower agent because the Wheaton agent wanted money up front for loading my stuff into storage. With Mayflower, I just pay on delivery in Detroit. They also will give me free used boxes, which is nice. (Although I need to go in search of mirror boxes to put pictures in.)
My next major task is to contact Air Animal and discuss air transport for the kitties with them. Boy, are they going to hate that. Ah well, it can't be helped. It's the lesser of two evils.
I haven't packed anything in the last couple of days, so I need to get cracking on it. I also need to bring some clothes to Goodwill.
Oh, and my dad is no longer insisting that I see a lawyer about the offer on the condo. Yay.
I keep thinking of more things. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. He agreed that I should go off Lithium, but didn't want to change my medications when I'm likely to have a period of time without a doctor. He suggested that I start looking for health insurance now. I did start, but want to wait a little longer to be more sure that the offer on the condo will go through. The insurance Web site said that having short-term insurance can mess up your ability to get long-term insurance. Looking for health insurance makes me nervous because it's an area that's complicated, and I know nothing about it. I wonder how hard it's going to be to get insurance given my preexisting condition.
