A quiet birthday

days_unfoldingI did go out and buy a smartphone. I liked an Android phone better than the iPhone, and it was cheaper, so I bought it. Unfortunately I grabbed the wrong memory card for it at Best Buy (and compounded the error by opening the package for the memory card before I checked that it was the right size), so I'll need to wait until tomorrow to install apps. I did install Pandora radio, and it works well, but drains the battery quickly (not surprising). There are free apps for Hotmail, including access to my calendar (which started me thinking about getting a smartphone in the first place), Twitter, and, yes, LiveJournal. Everything that I really care about -;) I'm thrilled with the phone.
My mom and I went out to dinner at a Japanese place that we like. We had planned to see a movie, but we ran late, and my mom is going out of town tomorrow, so we took a rain check. I spent the rest of the evening playing with the phone.
