Back in "My" Springfield
Oct. 21st, 2013 10:38 pmIt's good to be back in Springfield. It feels good to be running around the old familiar places, even if most of them are commercial.
I had a hell of a time falling asleep last night. I was too wired from the drive, and my body was literally twitching as I was lying there. I finally took an herbal sleep aid, and it worked.
However, I had to get up early to have my snow tires put on the car. I have to hand it to the dealer; they got me out of there relatively quickly.
The hotel in which I'm staying is becoming my new favorite hotel, with one BIG caveat. If you don't hang on to the room doors and close them gently, they slam and shake the adjoining rooms. I was trying to take a nap early this afternoon, and I'd start to fall asleep...SLAM! I'd start to fall asleep again....SLAM! Then my mom called. At that point, I gave up and got up.
I did a dry run over to Lincoln and found the place. The campus is pretty. Autumn suits Midwestern colleges.
Dinner, errands, some interview practice, but I'm fading fast. I think that I'll go to sleep soon and get up earlish.
Oh, what do I like about the hotel? Very nice room, free breakfast (including some hot foods), laundry, and a nice "business center" with a printer. They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi too, but I didn't bring my swimsuit. I even like their coffee, and I'm not normally a coffee drinker.
