USM is really on the ball. They sent me a note on Friday asking me if I was still interested and to send a transcript, and I responded.  They said that they'd be checking references between now and the 25th. I contacted my references today to tell them that they might get contacted, and was told that they already called this morning to set up a time to talk to them. Wow, that was fast!

The town (Hattiesburg) is only three hours from New Orleans by train and two by car. That would rock! And it's only 1.5 hours to Biloxi and the Gulf!

Not that I know of, but the town was hit by a major tornado not very long ago. They probably get the fringes of hurricanes, but hurricanes weaken over land.
