When I walked downstairs this morning, the front door was wide open. It had been open for a while because the temperature downstairs was down to 41. Harlee, thank goodness, went upstairs to hide in the office rather than ventured outside. (Zara probably would have gone out, but she was in the bedroom with me. OTOH, it was very cold and uninviting.) Nothing was taken.

If you don't close the door all the way, it blows open. I usually check to see that it's locked before I go to sleep, but I guess that I didn't last night. (I'm a little concerned about the amount of stuff I'm forgetting.)

Harlee deserves tuna tonight. The real stuff.

Oh my! Scary. I'm glad all is well!

For awhile, in order to get used to taking certain pills before bed (when I take others in the morning) I put a note where I would be sure to see it right before bed-- on the bathroom mirror. It worked! Now I'm in the habit.

I figured out what happened. I came in with my hands full, shut the door but didn't lock it, and went to put stuff down, planning to go back and lock the door. But I didn't. Now I put stuff down just inside the door and lock it first thing when I get in. (And now I'm double- and triple-checking that it's locked as well!)
