State of Confusion

I needed to run to the Post Office to pick up a couple of packages. On the way there, I almost turned the wrong way to begin with and blew past the turn for the Post Office. I managed to pick up the packages and get home, but I'm feeling very shaky. I think that part of the problem might be that I'm dehydrated; I drank some peppermint iced tea, and that seemed to help somewhat. (Rule # 1 of living in Central Illinois in the summer--drink lots of water.) It's so beastly hot and humid out that my glasses fog up when I step outside. Eating something seems to be helping too. I have other errands to run and am playing beat the clock because it might storm later, but I'm not going anywhere until I feel better. I might just wait until tomorrow. A nap might be in order too.

Oh, I miss the dry heat of the Bay Area....

You'd get that today, too - I think it's in the low 90's in San Jose. Here it's 92 and 22% humidity. I don't miss MN's summer heat/humidity that I lived with growing up.

89 degrees and 85 percent humidity here (increasing tonight to 95 percent humidity, so I really hope that it storms). I bet that it feels hotter. When I lived in the Bay Area, I always thought that the temperature was 10 degrees cooler than it was because of the dry heat.

And here comes the storm (a little early--they predicted 7). Severe thunderstorm watch with high winds and possible hail. Groovy.

I had a nap this afternoon myself. It was lovely.
