'Tis the Season

My mom is coming into town tonight, and she's on her way. Luckily, I have today off (thank you to the College!), so I've been running around cleaning and organizing. Right now, I'm taking a break and waiting for my lunch to cool. I'm glad that I don't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner; we're going out tomorrow.
I've been feeling a little cranky about people who already have their Christmas lights up and stores playing Christmas carols, but I suppose that it's legit on Friday. And, of course, I'm getting inundated with Black Friday spam. Well, I had to post one "bah, humbug" post, so I guess that this is it.
Apparently I'm acclimating to the cold though. I was running errands late last evening, and had my parka and gloves on, but had my hood down and no scarf. I thought, "This isn't bad. It must be around freezing out." Then I looked at the thermometer in my car's dashboard. 21 degrees F. It really didn't feel that cold, although the lack of wind probably had a lot to do with it. I might become a "real Midwesterner" again yet!
I don't know when I'll post next, so Happy Thanksgiving to all! Hope that it will be delicious!
