The Looong Weekend

days_unfoldingWe have today and tomorrow off for Fall Break. I'm really glad because I was collapsing. This last week was a roller coaster. We had the on-site interview with the second Library Director candidate. Most of us on the Search Committee really liked him. However, one of the faculty members asked what the candidate was doing now, and he said that he just quit his job "to look for a position that was closer to his interests". So we wanted to hire him, but also wanted to find out what was going on in his last job. At first, my boss sent out an e-mail saying that she investigated it "to her satisfaction," and asked us which candidate we preferred, and we said the candidate whom we interviewed this week. Then she started to try to get in touch with me. We finally connected on late Thursday, and she said that actually, the candidate's former boss said that he needed a lot of hand-holding. We need a Library Director who will lead, so we both agreed to that we should make an offer to the other candidate. The other candidate is currently considering the offer.
I guess that I must have been harboring a lot of stress over the interview process because on Friday, I completely collapsed. I was dragging at work all day. So I'm especially glad for the long weekend.
I've largely been doing stuff around here. I made Turkey Burger Pitas yesterday, and they were pretty good. I just started Beef Stroganoff in the crockpot. I keep waiting for the stuff that I'm cooking to do something like bubble, but it hasn't yet. The sides of the crockpot are warm, however. I hope that it's good because it's easy to make.
I also made a video about Monat, and plan to make another one tonight.
Tomorrow, I get to run around a lot. I have physical therapy in the morning; I'm getting my car's oil changed around noon in Bloomington; I'm ordering tires in Springfield in the late afternoon.
