Happy Halloween!

Well, not so much around here. It's been raining on and off all day. I feel sorry for the trick-and-treaters, but I have to admit that I didn't get candy for them. The Bloomington paper said that the rule is "go only to those houses that have their porch light on," which is a good rule.
The new Library Director will start Thanksgiving week, so three more weeks of flying solo. (Good deal for her--work two days, and get a paid vacation the rest of the week!) My boss wants the back room cleaned up before she comes--I told her that we have years of junk back there, so we're not going to finish that--but I'm working on it. I got a bunch of old printers sent to the staging area for recycling. And I'm working on the piles of books that I never got to in my area, and am making progress. I wound up with quite a pile on the desk of the part-timer who processes books, so, at least, she can't complain of being bored on Sunday.
I was complaining on Facebook about early Christmas stuff, and someone from the UK asked if I was "kind of a Scrooge," and I guess that I am. Three years of working retail right after college made me permanently jaded, I guess. I am mulling over Christmas presents though because I need to figure out how to pay for them. I guess that I'll order them this month and continue eating cheaply. I did a good job last month and didn't quite run out of money. (Well, my mom's Younique order helped a lot as well.) Speaking of being a Scrooge, my aunt invited my uncle and herself down to Lincoln over Thanksgiving weekend without asking me, which made me grumpy, but it might not actually happen. My mom will be down before and after Thanksgiving.
The cats are doing well. Zara was bouncing off of the walls, the cat tree, and me earlier today. Harlee settled on my legs, and refused to get off of them when I told her that I had to leave because I was hungry. I rolled over to get her off, and she promptly got back on my legs. I had to push her off :)
Tonight, I'm working on Younique and Monat stuff....Speaking of holidays, I need to get my act together to go "blitzing" (handing out cards and talking to people) at some of the malls in Bloomington and Springfield this November. I need to watch videos about it and practice. I should join the local United Church of Christ church (they're LGBT inclusive, so I like them) as well, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to give up sleeping in on Sunday. Maybe after the new Library Director starts, when I won't be as tired....
I can't believe that I have a longish entry when nothing in particular is going on!
