Turn and Face the Strange

days_unfoldingI submitted my grant proposal. Woo-hoo! Even if I don't get it, I'm going to work on the research project because I have it pretty well blocked out. And my boss said that she was going to put a budget request for funding for the both of us for the American Library Association conference in 2017 because it'll be in Chicago. I' m really happy with my job right now. And I'm happy to see projects that I'm leading continually moving along. People probably would be shocked at how disorganized I am at home because I'm pretty organized at work.
A policeman stopped me when I was outside yesterday, and asked me if he could talk about one of my neighbors. He said that they thought that she had killed her baby (no, I'm not kidding), but she's acting like she still has it. He said that if I saw her, to call the police. I saw her boyfriend last night, but not her. They have blackout curtains, so it looks like no one is home even though someone is. Yikes.
I did see the woman today briefly when she ran into her apartment to get something, but she promptly left. I was kind of gawking at her and her apartment, which probably isn't a swift move. I left the lights off after dinner instead of turning them on for the cats, and I have the door locked with the chain while I'm home.
I'm exhausted. I think that I'm going to sleep soon, which is early for me. I hope that I'll get some stuff done in the morning.
