A Home Turned Upside Down

I was running late this morning, but I managed to get the kitchen gate, food and water, and litter boxes set up before I needed to get ready to go to the Humane Society. Then I let Zara out of the bedroom. She looked at me like, "Are you really letting me out??" And then she ran out full-tilt. She was having a great time running up and down the stairs and checking everything out. Then I brought out the carrier for Mimi, and both Harlee and Zara vanished.

I formally adopted Mimi and brought her home. She was quite gutsy and roamed around the room, and them climbed on me, kneading and purring. I think that she'll be okay, and I'm totally in love. Now she's hiding though (not surprisingly). Harlee and Zara were both hiding when I got home. Harlee meowed at me, however. Zara was hiding in the office closet, but she came out now (and got some pets from me). She keeps bonking my leg, so I think that she's okay.

My thermostat needs new batteries (it was freezing cold in here this morning), so I'm going to eat something and then run out for a few minutes.

All in all, I think that everything's going well. The shelter gave me a great picture of Mimi, which I'll post later.
