I've started the Justin Guitar lessons. I think that they will be quite good. Right now, he's just talking about the different types of guitars, accessories, etc. I found it interesting that he recommends buying an electric guitar for beginners. He said that they are easier to play and cheap ones sound better than cheap acoustic guitars. I like this guitar that he recommended, but I can't afford it this month, cheap or no. (Plus, I'd need a case for it because I'm klutzy and trip over things.) Anyway, I fished out my acoustic guitar (it was wedged between the futon and a basket), and I'm ready to...well not rock...folk?

He said that you don't actually need an amp to practice, but I'd think that I would want at least a practice "mini" amp.

As long as you have headphones and something to drive them, you're good.

Hmm, that would be one advantage of using an electric guitar: being able to practice with headphones late at night.
