An Uneasy Peace in a Chaotic Household

days_unfoldingThere's an uneasy peace going on between Zara and Mimi right now. I'm giving them "respite times" when they aren't together (when I'm not home, when they're eating, etc.) and it seems to be helping. (Although Mimi was trying to get out of my way just now, and ran right into Zara, and there was hissing and flailing of paws.) I hope that this continues to work.
I give Zara her anti-anxiety meds twice a day, mixed into canned food. I've been giving Mimi the other half of a can so that she doesn't get jealous. Well, now Mimi's boycotting her dry food (nice try, Mimi, I KNOW that you ate dry food in the shelter) and meows for me to give her canned food whenever I'm in the kitchen. It doesn't take much to get completely spoiled. Cats!
There was an adorable small dog (I think that he's a Pomeranian) at the Humane Society on Saturday. Sweet dog who doesn't bark. I hope that he gets adopted quickly because he tugs at the heartstrings. (Though given the drama between Zara and Mimi, I can imagine how bad it might have been had I adopted a dog. Oy.)
I decided to wait to get the electric guitar because I need to pay for TurboTax to do my taxes, and it isn't cheap. If the guitar is still available next month, I'll get it. I just need to discipline myself to practice in the mornings. Unfortunately my self-discipline is at its worst in the mornings. I suppose that I could take a shower earlier (that's really when I wake up) and then practice.
Which reminds me, I need to practice after I put my pizza in the oven. And I need to make sure that I do Italian too because I never got to it last night.
