"Excessive Heat Warning"

days_unfoldingWe're having an "excessive heat warning" from now until Sunday. And it sucks. At the height of it this afternoon, it was so hot and humid that it made it hard to breathe. I was drowsy during the evening at the library. The cats are flat out. I didn't really want to eat much tonight and definitely not cook, so I made some waffles with frozen yogurt on the top. At least they were multigrain. Yes, I do have air conditioning, but somehow, it's still bad.
I love the phrase "excessive heat warning" though. Who decides what is "excessive"? "Frankly, Mother Nature, some heat and humidity is expected in the summer, but what you're doing is just EXCESSIVE." I guess that I'm easily amused.
This is the start of my "weekend". Working Sunday through Thursday is working well, except that I keep getting confused as to what day it is. I'm planning to stay in due to the heat, except for possibly running to the grocery store for a few things tomorrow night. I think that I'm going to go to bed early and read.
