I'm getting hooked on an app called Robinhood. It enables you to make free stock trades on your phone. Because there is no trading fee, there's no reason not to buy a few shares at a time. So I've invested in a company called Novocure. It makes an innovative cancer treatment that looks promising. It's a bit of a gamble because they're either going to make it big or belly-flop, but their stock price is cheap at this point.
I'm also interested in Hawaiian Airlines, so I downloaded and printed their annual report. I have a book about how to read annual reports, so I'm planning to take the report and the book to the coffee shop this weekend and look at them. I also downloaded Hawaiian tourism statistics over the last several years, and will look at them.
I bought a small, cheap bulletin board, and plan to stick something on it for each company that I invest in.
I'm discovering "fast" food that is good for you. Tonight, I made a flounder filet and some frozen creamed spinach. It was quite good, cheap (each filet costs slightly over $0.50), and fast to make. We have a winner!
