Deadlines Focus the Mind

I've decided that getting this place in order is my top priority. And lo and behold, I received a note today from the apartment management that they are going to come in and spray for bugs next Tuesday. So I have very good incentive to clean. Deadlines always help.
(Added) I'm actually enjoying letting some of my stuff go to others. The young woman who bought my violin was thrilled. Today, the person who bought my backpack made a point of sending me an e-mail, telling me how much she likes the backpack. So I should think of decluttering as giving to others as well as freeing space for me. That could be liberating.
My mom is back home. It's looking unlikely that she'll be able to go to Chicago, though, because she's still recovering from the pneumonia, plus her legs are so swollen from the steroids that she can barely make it up the stairs and has problems putting on her shoes. But I'll talk to her this weekend, and see what her doctors say. I'm kind of assuming that I'll be going to Detroit for Christmas.
Anyway, I'm going to change into sweats and get cleaning. I might sleep in sweats, as inelegant as it is because it's COLD out--23 degrees F with a wind chill of 15. Ugh.
