Turning Over a New Leaf

I spilled some coffee on the kitchen counter, and promptly wiped it up. The counter and stove look good, and I'm trying to maintain them. It's a start. However, I was looking at a decluttering book, and it was talking about how our home is an extension of ourselves...and I don't feel that way at all. It's just a place. Maybe my books and CDs are an extension of myself. And my posters. The book talked about setting up routines to keep up with things, such as the mail. I usually let the mail pile up. That's something that I could work on when I get home because it's quiet. Cleaning routines are more problematic because I need to get up early to do them, and I'm a night owl. Anyway, I'm thinking about it.
I was a klutz this morning: I spilled detergent on my pants and knocked a sweater behind the washer. Not sure how to get the sweater. I'm hoping to hook it with a broom.
I think that I understand why Harlee spends a lot of time on the cat tree in the living room. She likes it--and it's her cat tree--but I think that she's trying to get away from Mimi, who doesn't like Harlee. (On the other hand, she stays there even when Mimi is shut in the bedroom.) Mimi and Zara seem to be getting along okay with the occasional squabble.
