"Groovy Duck"

Zara is looking older. Not old--she's eight--but not young anymore. Hard to describe. She's still my beautiful girl. She was making an enormous fuss over me at dinner. I ran late because I didn't have the heart to kick her off of my lap. Mimi was being obnoxious this morning and was chasing Zara. Don't know what was with her. I yelled until she stopped.
I did a few things around the house this morning. Go me.
An article about Meghan Markle mentioned a Poke Bowl. I didn't know what that was, but did some research, and it's a Hawaiian bowl with raw fish in it. I'm surprised that I hadn't heard of it before, given that we used to go to Hawaii every year. (Maybe I have, but just don't remember.) Anyway, there are a bunch of places in Chicago that have them (another reason to move to Chicago--you can get any food that you want?), but a place in Springfield has a "Poke Salad". Worth a try, even though it's not vegetarian. I wonder if my mom would go there with me. Like the restaurant's name: "Groovy Duck".
I decided to try sending Thank You notes like
platofish is doing. I bought some at Dollar Tree. I think that the first one that I'll send is to someone who loads files for us at our consortium. But hmm, I got flowery ones, so I found some more professional ones at WalMart.
I also bought some fettuccine and alfredo sauce at WalMart. It's silly for me to buy frozen fettuccine when it's so easy and cheap to make and freeze. And I bought some yogurt because I'm having a tooth pulled on Friday. They'll probably want me to eat soft foods for a day. I also have soup and scrambled eggs.
I think that my organizing task for tonight is cleaning out my purse. I can't find things in there.
