Spotted on
lothie's journal and wanted to pass along the link:
Blood Donation Eligibility Guidelines
It looks like that I can donate blood after all. (I wasn't sure because of the Prozac.) I probably still want to call them to verify before I do so. The thing is that I'm likely to be put on some even stronger medication for Bipolar, so I probably should do so before then.
I'm feeling a lot better, so I probably won't stay off LJ after all. I do need to limit the amount of time that I spend reading about this week's events, however. I'm planning to limit both LJ time and internet time.
Addendum: I'm pretty sure that taking lithium (one of the most common drug treatments for Bipolar Disorder and usually the one that they start with) would rule me out as a blood donor. The theraputic dosage of lithium is close to the toxic dose of lithium (a fact that scares the hell out of me). When you take lithium, you're supposed to have regular blood tests to check the levels of lithium.
So I need to move relatively fast. My appointment is on Wednesday.
