[personal profile] zhelana’s post about adult summer camp inspired me to look into them. A lot of them feature drinking, and I don’t drink. However, there is one at Allerton, which is local. It does have a drinking component, but there are other activities and you can stroll the grounds. Also, you can camp there in a tent, which I would like to do. (I’m nervous about camping on my own, but that should be okay.) There’s one in a couple of weeks, which I can’t do, but there also is one in October.

Got up with my alarm at 7:30 AM. I was still tired.

I’m having problems getting in touch with the people at the boarding place. This isn’t good. I’m going to drive by there when I’m done running errands if I don’t hear from them.

Fed us all. Bella is being manic. I have a headache, so I’m going to lie down for a half-hour, then shower. I’m up and feeling a little better.

Got the money for the pet sitter. Got my library books. Went by the dog and cat boarding place, and people who worked there were there, so I guess that it’s open. I hope that they get back to me. Picked up my glasses at Target. Bought some measuring cups and acetaminophen, also at Target. I’m hungry and running early, so I’m at Denny’s getting some French toast.

Picked up the laptop sleeve. Had some extra time to kill, so I went to PetSmart to buy puppy supplies. I bought a few different types of canned food to see what she’ll like, plus dry puppy food. And some bowls and a fuzzy bed like her big sister has. And a stuffed lamb toy.

I finally got in touch with the kennel. Apparently, I said that I would drop them off on Monday. And the dog training people said that it would be okay that I won’t be at orientation.

Now I’m getting my brows done (done). Now I’m back home. I passed the “No Kings” protest on the way home. One of these days, I’ll make it to a protest. Some people were walking in the road though, which was nervewracking. What's the point of stopping traffic?

Napped. I'm still feeling exhausted, so I'm going to feed the critters and go back to bed.

Someone is rehoming two male cats. I'm debating asking to adopt them. Two more cats would be tough for Zara and Mimi, but they're a bonded pair, so they might entertain each other? Though I'm not really set up for them. It would be better to adopt a cat after the 1st of the year.

I woke up twice last night for some reason. I got up once and ate oatmeal to fall back asleep. Then I overslept a little but had time for my shower.

Mimi chose lap time over food! But she had to meow at me first before jumping on.

Hmm. Allerton, which is a house and gardens owned by the University about a half-hour away, is having a "Holiday GLOW" event on Saturday night. The gardens are set up with holiday lights, and there is music and food for purchase. It costs $10. It sounds like fun. They want cash though. Though if I go on the 21st, there is a holiday market and a Winter Solstice Bonfire as well. That sounds great. Though there's a Holiday Showcase this weekend with vendors. I found a photo of the Mississippi River that I like, but I’m not sure where I’d put it. But I could order it online.

It's snowing. We got a light dusting.

Suckage. The bank does currency exchange, but it has to be a minimum of $100. The credit union that I also belong to does currency exchange, but they will charge $25 and the money will be available in 2 to 3 business days.

The plus side is that I can take a nap over lunch. Couldn’t sleep.

It's cold up here (in my home office upstairs). I retrieved my small space heater and it helps somewhat. I'm trying to decide whether to get a larger space heater or put in a heat pump for upstairs. (I keep getting ads for the heat pump on Facebook. It would be better but probably expensive.) Actually, the little space heater is doing a pretty good job.

Dress rehearsal tonight for choir. I need to get a black folder for the music for the concert next week. We're supposed to wear all black as well for the concert.

I just found a perfect table for the library on Facebook Marketplace. It's dark wood with a green marble top. $15. I need to measure for it next to the wingback chair to see if it will work though. Yes, it would be perfect. I'll message the seller (done).

My dumb knee is twinging when I go up and down stairs. I need to figure out what exercises I need to do to help.

I want to get to rehearsal early because the musicians with whom we’re playing are getting there early. I did get there early. I go because I made a commitment, but I wind up enjoying the singing. We’ll have to get there at 6 PM next week before the concert, so I might need to leave work a little early. Oh, my voice teacher was right that if I sat in the same row as the rest of the altos, I could hear them better.

Here's the poster for our concert:

Oh, and the roads and sidewalks were kind of slick from the snow turning into ice in spots. Apparently, there were a bunch of accidents earlier today. Some people on Facebook were complaining that people forget how to drive on ice and snow each year.

I need to practice piano, but I think that I’ll get up early and do it. I’m musiced out:) And I really want to get into cozy PJs and snuggle with Zara. Speaking of which, Zara wants food.

The estate sale guy said that they would work on the accounting for the sale and also clean out my Mom's house this week. My handyman up there called to ask how things were going up there. Apparently he stored a piece of glass on the breezeway and put a key to the house under a rock near the front door. I didn't know this. He said that he would work on the painting on the back side of the house next week.

The cats are completely flaked out.

I got a cleaning caddy bag to help me carry stuff around for cleaning. The cord for the treadmill should come today, but I realized that I should put a mat under it, so I ordered one from Amazon.

There is a house and garden called Allerton the next town over. They have programs there. They're going to have one about Mary Oliver's poetry this summer, but I would miss the first session because I'll be in Italy. I'm trying to email them to find out if I can still do it. They said yes! And Illinois Extension is having an online class about natural lawn care, but that's during the conference that I'm going to. Hmm.

I'm feeling ice cold. It is cold out (currently 33 F). I lay down during lunch, and the comforter and Zara were warm.

I keep having sinus headaches and post-nasal drip. Yuck.

I'm meeting with the pet sitter on Friday.

Yay. I've got the power cord and emergency key for the treadmill. I plugged it in.

I had my usually helpful session with the algorithms TA. Then I had dinner. The cats wanted dinner also. Then I lay down for a nap but couldn’t sleep.

I ordered the venlafaxine on CVS’ site this weekend, but it’s not showing up on the app, so I ordered it yet again. Sigh.

I worked on my program until I got stumped and wrote the TA because there's a fundamental problem. Okay, I fixed the problem, but I think that I want to go to bed now. Crud, I need to put clothes in the dryer. I guess that I'll sleep in less warm pajamas.
