Best Laid Plans
Dec. 1st, 2021 10:58 pmMom did not start the day well. Someone called, and she wasn't sure who it was, and she's wondering if she missed a doctor's appointment. She didn't have room to spread out her datebook and pad of paper, so she sorted out the mail that she picked up yesterday. She kept saying that she was overwhelmed and couldn't handle this, which doesn't bode well for after I leave.
She had me run her car for a while. I had some of her stash of soup for lunch. Now she's looking for her ATM card and can't find it. She's getting really upset.
Well, hell. I went to go to the grocery store, and the car wouldn't start. So I called Roadside Assistance for a jump-start. The guy who came said that it wasn't a battery problem and that the car needed to be towed. We sent the car to Mom's favorite mechanics at Midas, but they haven't called back yet. I suggested that we get Mom's meds, which she was concerned about. So we discovered that Mom can drive her car, which is the good news. We also went out to eat and I did the shopping.
This all makes it seem calm and organized, but we were anything but. Mom especially was getting upset.
However, Mom found her ATM card.
Now Mom is not feeling well and has chills. I heated up some soup for her. She said that too much went wrong today for her to handle. Meanwhile, I'm trying to do homework in the midst of all this.
