I bought a sheet, pillow, and comforter set from Brooklinen, so I guess that I'm returning the Pottery Barn set. It was cheaper too and should be nice.

I couldn't fall asleep last night because I forgot to take my meds. I finally realized that and took them but it was 6 AM. Woke up at noon. Zara is currently lying on my foot.

I'm trying to figure out clothes for the Zephyr trip. The thing is that I want to dress casually on the train and at my dad's house, but be chic for San Francisco. Maybe I should check luggage on the train and on the flight back. Oh well, I have time to figure it out.

Huh. I was trying to remember a late-night diner near Union Square, and I got the name right (Pinecrest Diner). I think that I'll go there for dinner or breakfast sometime.

My new bedroom lamp is out for delivery. I need a spot for stuff that I'll hand-carry to the new place.

I'm looking on Nordstrom Rack for another cardigan and a couple of black tops for San Francisco (and maybe to wear to the Unitarian church?) Actually, I bought a long zip up Irish sweater on eBay. It'll be great for the trip.

Now I'm thinking that I would take a small weekender bag on the train with me and check luggage.

Well, that was interesting. The Amtrak Web site just had my trip from Reno to San Francisco; the app just had my trip to Chicago from Champaign. Neither had my Zephyr trip. And Hotels.com never sent me a confirmation of my San Francisco hotel. Buggy software doth abound. I think that I have it straightened out. Also, my dad never got copies of my itinerary, so I had Amtrak re-send them.

Tried to nap, but couldn't sleep. Just as well because I have a lot to get done.

Ugh. I went to return the Wayfair comforter, only to find that I'd only get $7 back if I returned it and $13 back if I kept it. So I guess that I'm keeping it. Sometimes I like an extra comforter on my bed, so I guess that will work. The Pottery Barn return should work though.

Hmm. The post office opens at 8:30 AM, so it would be tough to mail my Nordstrom's return before work. But CVS is a UPS drop-off point, so I can drop off the Pottery Barn stuff tomorrow.

The lamp arrived, and it's nice. I stuck a bedroom sticker and a fragile sticker on it, but I don't know if I'll carry it myself or have the movers do it. It's larger than I thought.

Also got my Christmas cards, and they're pretty.

Packaged up the Nordstrom and Pottery Barn returns, and they're now out in the car.

Talked to Mom. She's been getting lots of sleep and is eating well, which is good. She has the driving test to get her license back on Monday, but apparently it's just a written test and they'll look at the note from her doctor and check her vision. I hope that it goes okay.

Ordered some wardrobe boxes because the mover said that I'd save some money doing that. I'm not sure where to put all the boxes though.

Worked on a paper for my final project for my programming class. Italian is later tomorrow because my teacher had a conflict, but I still think that I'll go to bed after I do nighttime tasks.

Mimi doesn't like me doing stuff in the kitchen while she eats. So I guess that I'll sit down.

Went back to bed around 6 AM, and had a hard time getting up at 8. It was close to 9 when I staggered out of bed. And Zara wanted to be fed again!

Made a reservation to board the cats at the vet during the move and over Christmas because I need to go get Mom.

Got the linen comforter. It's not as soft as I had expected, but it looks nice. Hmm. Will I be disappointed that it's not soft? Need to think about it. Well, it was expensive, so if it doesn't fit my dreams, you can make a good case that it should go back. I did find a nice down alternative comforter on Pottery Barn's site and Egyptian cotton sheets on Pure Parima.

My boss okayed my being off for the move and also my March travel plans (Take the California Zephyr to California, stopping at my dad's house on the way). I'm trying to decide how long to stay at my dad's place and how long to spend in San Francisco. If I fly back on Sunday instead of Saturday, I could evenly divide it. (I'd get to Reno on Monday, and the day that I go from Reno to Emeryville/San Francisco would be a mostly full travel day.) No, it would be cheaper if I take the red-eye on Saturday night. But the bus from O'Hare leaves at 4:45 PM. Crud. The best flight leaves at 7 AM and arrives at 1:15 PM. Expensive though. But I hate to spend the day at O'Hare. Is it worth $200 for me to do that? That would pay for a lot of food, although I'd have to eat in the airport, which would be expensive.

I can't book my travel because I need to transfer some money from my money market account to my checking account, and PNC's site has been down all evening. I wonder what's going on. Okay, now it's working and I booked the Zephyr, which is what I was worried about. I'm still mulling over the trip to Emeryville and the hotel in San Francisco. I was wondering if I should pay $40 a night more for a very tony hotel on Nob Hill that my mom had stayed at, so I called her and she said that yes, I should stay there, so I booked it. She's really excited about my trip! And I decided on the redeye flight also because I don't really want to get up before dawn for the other flight. The redeye is easier. Okay, booked everything.

I think that I'm going to make some grilled cheese and tomato soup. Then maybe go to sleep?

Hackathon

The TA for my programming class unstuck me on the problems that I was having via email. I also have a Zoom meeting with her tonight, which is good because I'm stuck on another problem.

The body pillow arrived. I'll put it with my stack of bedroom stuff.

The sleep study said I had mild sleep apnea, so they're ordering a CPAP. Ugh, but I hope that it will help me feel less tired. [personal profile] sunshine_two, yes, you were right!

I texted Mom about my sleep apnea. She just saw the part that said "My doctor said..." And she thought that I was trying to call her, so she called me. She hopes that the CPAP will help me. A friend of hers took her shopping, so she has lots of food. She has a driving test to get back her license on Monday, so she's trying to get a lot of sleep and eat well before it.

Okay, I had a major hackathon. I still didn't have all the problems fixed before I handed it in. Oh well. This class is HARD.

New TV!

I did get the linen comforter. It'll be so soft and cozy. I'll return the one that I bought from Wayfair. I bought a body pillow.

Got up an hour later than I had intended, but it's still early.

Operation TV came off without a hitch. It's in the TV room now. I need to find my screwdrivers though. I took them to Chicago with me when I brought down the entertainment center. I might have to go get one.

Had a nice nap. Had a hard time getting up. Had Chinese Beef and Broccoli for dinner. Got the garbage out.

Ran to Walmart. Got food, soda, and a screwdriver.

I found a bedroom set that I like, but that's way down on the list.

Got the new TV working and I love it! I'm glad that I got it. I've got Sling and Netflix working. (It's a 50-inch TV, FWIW.)

Hmm. I need to work on my presentation for class, but I'm feeling tired. I guess that I'll get to sleep earlish and get up early. I don't have to get dressed before lunchtime.

Got my clothes in the dryer. I think that I'm going to stay in today and get stuff done around here.

Exchanged text messages with the executor of my aunt's estate (my aunt's nephew). Apparently, the estate sale didn't go very well. It barely covered costs and there was a lot left over. A friend of my aunt is boxing stuff up to go to the Salvation Army. The house needs to be cleaned before it goes up for sale on the general market.

I received the weighted blanket. I'm not going to unpack it now, but will put it with stuff for the bedroom. Now I'm wondering if I should get a body pillow. I'm now thinking that I'll get the innerspring Marriott mattress with the Marriott mattress topper and Marriott eco pillows. And I'm looking at down alternative comforters and high-thread-count sheets. I want my bedroom to be an oasis of peace. I'm going to need cheap pillows for the pillow shams, but I'll probably wait to get them after the move. Hmm. Pottery Barn has a flax linen comforter that sounds heavenly, but if you get the sheets and pillows too, you could spend over $500 on bedding.

I've started tackling the TV room because that's where the TV will go tomorrow. I think that I'll pack stuff up as long as I'm in there. I need to get rid of the old vacuum cleaner. And I dumped some old books, which would appall my mom, but no one would want them. My back is killing me, but I'm making progress. Mimi is getting in the way though.

Wrangled my aunt's TV into my bedroom. Now I just need to get the Roku set up, and I'll have television. It'll be even better when I can set it up at the foot of the bed in the new place.

I was looking at TravelZoo, and they have a great trip to the Greek Islands in October of next year. Do I want to go there instead of to Italy? They also had a trip to Portugal, but I'll probably wait on that.

There was a cat fight outside, and it riled the girls up. Mimi was in the bedroom window looking out when Zara jumped up to see what was going on. Mimi turned around and went after Zara. I broke it up.

Talked to Mom. She got her food ordered and delivered, although they were out of a lot of stuff. She thinks that the new TV will be great. (She said that she might not leave!)

Got things together in the TV room. Now I think that it's night tasks and bedtime. Oh, and I need to eat too.
