I don’t know how it got to be Friday already. I need to tidy up for the cleaner tonight. She’s coming tomorrow. Started tidying up the kitchen.

Mimi is complaining loudly that she's not on my lap. I'm not stopping her from jumping up. Silly cat :) And I forgot to mention that Zara gave me a little kiss last night when I lay down to get rid of my headache. Aww. From her it means something. She is a one-person (me) cat. Mimi ingratiates herself with whatever human is around (but she likes me best).

Hmm, the Walker Book Club is tomorrow, but I have my broken toe. Plus, I need to get ready for the cleaner.

I met with the advisor and she’s going to submit my withdrawal form. She suggested that I call financial aid about my tuition waiver.

I got my new Full Focus planner. It starts on Monday, but I can write some goals down this weekend. My plan is to organize and clean the upstairs while the cleaner is cleaning the downstairs.

I rescheduled my RSV vaccine for the weekend of the 26th. I should be here because our annual meeting and in-person staff meeting at work is that week. I need to go up to Michigan sometime this month.

I had said that the arthritis in my toe wasn't bothering me, but that isn't quite true. I had been wondering if I was getting gout because it twinged occasionally, but it's not bad. But I'm wondering if I'm getting a touch of arthritis in my hands. Sigh.

I need to start walking after my toe heals. I'm missing the nice fall weather! And apparently people walk in the mall down the street from me in the winter.

I watched Anthony Bourdain’s last interview from a Facebook link. How could someone who sounded so together wind up killing himself? The Bourdain worshipers on the Facebook group trouble me, however. I keep wondering what he would think about them. I have a feeling that he wouldn’t be impressed.

The kitchen is ready for the cleaner except that I need to do dishes (done). Right now, I’m watering my “tree” plants because I do so in the tub (done and draining overnight) and I want the cleaner to clean the tub.

Brought stuff upstairs for the organizing and cleaning tomorrow. I'm feeling tired, so I'm going to go to bed soon.

I made a list of things to get done before I go back to Italy. It's stuff that I would want to do anyway, but seeing Mimmo adds some incentive. Well, I'm also thinking of growing my hair a bit longer, which I hadn't thought of before. Something like this.

What do you think? It's similar to my current haircut, only longer. I'll bring the picture to my hair stylist to discuss. (Basically, I want to knock the sexy Italian guys dead :))

Speaking of dead, I bought an end-of-life planner. I had wished that my mom had had one, so I had been thinking about it. What got me about this one is the title: “Fuck, I’m Dead!” It should give someone a laugh.

Crap. I overslept, and missed a webinar, but there probably will be a recording of it. A lot of people are off work today because of the holiday tomorrow.

The Italian teacher got back to me, and I think that we have a time. Yay.

I think that I'm getting used to the heat. It's currently 81F/27C, but it feels okay upstairs, and I don't have the fan on. Today is going to be a day spent in pajamas though.

They're letting us leave early for the holiday, but I need to make up the time that I overslept this morning.

I received my Italian keyboard, so I need to test it out tonight.

I just realized that I have tai chi tonight, so I need to take a shower and get dressed.

I’m thinking of getting a ceiling fan for my bedroom this weekend. I wonder where my ladder is.

Went to tai chi. I think that I like yoga better than tai chi, which wasn’t what I expected. Somehow I missed that they want us to have a pair of gym shoes only for Tai Chi, so I ordered some “open box” Skechers on eBay. (I looked at Kizik shoes, which I live in, but they would cost $120 for shoes that I will wear twice a week. No.)

I forgot to put out the trash last night. Drat.

People have started shooting off fireworks. Sigh. Here comes the noise.

Facebook has been showing clips from the Golden Girls. Damn, that show was good. I’m tempted to watch it on Amazon Prime. I bought the first season and watched the first episode.

Jenny Craig was having a big sale, so I decided to try it (ordered). My map of Italy got trashed in the move, so I ordered a new one.

Studied Italian. I enjoy checking off verbs that I know. I'd like a white board to list the ones that I know to motivate me. Bought a small one.

It's too late to start anything else (even though I don't need to get up early tomorrow), so I'm going to go to bed.

I forgot to mention that my aunt is now in a nursing home. She keeps falling down and no one knows why.

I didn't get up in time for swimming. I think that I needed the sleep though.

Italian went well. We're working harder on conversation and doing some verb review. We'll also start doing some reading.

Had a nice nap.

I'm looking for a sustainable solution to dish soap, and so far, I haven't found anything that I like. Blueland has a powder. Cleancult has a liquid, but people say that it doesn't lather. Solid dish soap from the Earthling Co. Okay, I found a solid bar from Ethique that you can melt with hot water and add to your own bottle.

Mom called. She might need me to order her an Uber on Monday or Tuesday. I don't mind if she isn't freaking out. She sounded good.

I posted a couple of things for free on the local Facebook groups.

I was looking at the Package Free store and was eyeing their reusable produce bags. They also have shampoo and conditioner bars for dry hair if I don't like the one that I bought.

Got the garbage out. I was mulling over sustainable garbage bags, but I just bought a box of regular bags. I ordered bamboo toilet paper from Cloud Paper. Put my new shampoo and conditioner bars in the shower; I want to try them tonight. Washed a load of rags.

I was trying to get up the energy to change my clothes and clean, when Mimi conveniently jumped on my lap. Cats...the biggest time-waster before the Internet. Downloaded some apps for which I can scan receipts and get points towards a gift card. Started more laundry.

I did some work on my new planner. It's asking difficult questions such as what my mission is in life. I picked it up because I want to track my progress in Italian. I created some Italian flashcards.

Oh. I forgot to mention yesterday that my mom thought that my coming to visit her in Michigan was a great idea. So I'm planning on it (although we haven't set a date yet). I put it to her as "you need to stay home and I need a change of scene".

Hmm. If I want to try scuba diving, Urbana has a dive shop that has lessons. It would be cool to do a dive in the Caribbean. I need to brush up on my swimming, but after I start working in Champaign, I can join the gym at the U of I. They offer swim lessons, which might not be a bad idea.

I now have the Celebrity Cruises app on my phone, but I need a cruise reservation to link. I'm kind of anxious to book the trip now that I've decided on it, but need to wait until I get paid again. Though I haven't heard back from Windstar yet. I'm thinking that I would want to be on the same deck as the library or iLounge, but it's a little more expensive. Might be worth it though. But if I bring my laptop and have WiFi, it wouldn't matter. A Web site said that the lower levels are more stable though; I suffer from motion sickness. Do I want an oceanview cabin? $400 extra. The Web site said that seeing the ocean, paradoxically, helps with motion sickness, plus it would be nice to look out the window. Bah, the soft drinks package is extra. Do I want to do a non-refundable deposit or refundable? So much to think about. Hmm, the cruise is through Tampa, so I could spend an extra couple of days and check out the Tampa area as a retirement place.

I've got this picture of St. Lucia as my desktop computer's background. I hope that it will help me to save money for the cruise.

I priced the Panama Canal cruise, and it's more expensive, not surprisingly. Plus that's a cruise on which it would be nice to have a balcony to see the transit of the Canal.

Zara has to check out everything that I eat, whether it's something that she wants or not. She's currently sitting on my lap. Now she was chewing on my keyboard cord so I evicted her.

I need to get going on my walking, but my schedule makes that tough. I need to run errands after voice today. Maybe tomorrow. (Monday is homework and will be my sewing class, Tuesday is piano, Wednesday is voice, Friday is guitar, and Sunday is Italian.) Definitely on the weekend (though if Mom is coming down on Sunday, I'll need to stick around).

Voice went well. My teacher said not to worry about using the piano to find pitches. I told her that I'd like to do the Purcell piece as a break, and she said that she'd look to see if she has it.

After voice, I ran errands. It started pouring part-way through, so I bought a cheap rainbow-colored umbrella. I like it. I might get another one.

I got my Define My Day planner and really like it. I want to start using it next Monday though to start at the beginning of the week.

I'm making a turkey burger (no bun) with mashed cauliflower as a side.

I want to ask Mom if she'd want to go to Orlando with me. I'd want to check the area out a a possible area for retirement, but we could spend a couple of days at Disney and Universal.
