Brrr...

I've been getting ads for personal styling because I checked out Nordstrom Trunk Club, and Daily Look is the clear winner for me. They had outfits in their ads that I would snap up. Maybe after I pay off some debt.

Fun Home is playing at the University, but I don't have enough money for a ticket. Bummer.

I've decided to pull an Oracle card each day, and today I got Pleasure, which puts me in a panic because I have lots of stuff to do. But I agree that I need to do more stuff that's relaxing.

I'm cold. Well, the temp is 40 F and dropping, so it IS cold. I really don't want to go out to get Zara's meds, but needs must (done). I get cynical about gratitude journaling, especially when a therapist thought that it would cure depression, but I'm grateful for the heat in my car and in my house.

I got the Tarot cards, so maybe my "pleasure" activity is a Tarot reading.

I found a cardigan that I liked on ThredUp. Next time that I get paid....

I don't know why I've been crazy hungry lately. Whatever is affecting Zara is affecting me too. Had some hot soup.

Did my Tarot reading. Loosely, I relied on skill and authority in the past, but love is in the future.

I think that some sleep is in the future....

Sigh

Hmm. I think that I want to try Google Fi after my AT&T contract is up. I can get a phone with unlimited data and international usage for the same price that I'm paying now.

Cool. The university is giving us free access to Rosetta Stone. Also, they offer free hearing screening and a hearing aid benefit. (I used to wear hearing aids, but stopped when they weren't working.) And a veterinary Urgent Care.

Rubbing my hurt leg seems to help, or at least it's soothing. Maybe I should get a massage after it heals.

Called Mom to wish her a Happy Birthday. We just talked briefly because my aunt was going to call her back.

Oh this week really has sucked. I had serious problems with an assignment. And I'm popping ibuprofen like candy. I think that I just need to go to sleep.

I did cancel the renewal for an old portfolio Web site that I've been paying for for no good reason.

Not only does Zara have a different spot every week or so, but she has a different eating spot too, and she trains me where to feed her. This home is not-so-secretly run by cats.

Italian was hard. Even the other student, who lived in Italy for a year and speaks Italian well, was confused by prepositions. I also discovered that I need to review verbs.

Noom is changing my eating habits. I wanted bread because we were talking about it in Italian, but I had a celery stick and some hummus instead. But I did have one cookie.

Had a nice nap and a bite to eat. Then I practiced a little before my voice lesson. Voice went well. My teacher is really great. I also pull out more of the stops when I know someone else is listening.

Did some Nooming. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I think homework and some laundry. Just remembered to take out the garbage for pickup (done). I'm making soup for dinner.

Oh, I have a taste for biscuits and gravy. Nope. Maybe when I go to Madison if they have biscuits and gravy in Wisconsin. I found a place that has some. And they're open 24 hours!

The U of I is sending an email about the new semester talking about compassion and mental health. When I went there, my ex-husband's dad died suddenly in an accident. One of his professors told him that he wasn't getting over his dad's death fast enough. So I'm dubious.

I'm tired, so I'm going to go to bed early. Sleep helps you lose weight!

I just flaked out last night. Bad headache. I'm still having headaches today. Feeling cranky.

I'm pondering whether I could take a trip to Oregon this summer. It just occurred to me that having the vaccine could open the world up for me. Though it would be easier to get to Chicago from Champaign than from Normal because the charter is running more buses. I suppose that I could drive up there, but I'd have to pay for long-term parking. Oh! Long-term parking at the Peoria airport is free, although I'd have to pay for a flight to Chicago from there. Long-term parking is probably cheaper. There are non-stop flights to Orlando from Peoria, so maybe I should check out Florida this year. If I fly out of O'Hare, Florida sure is cheap.

Higher ed workers are now qualified for COVID vaccinations. If my colleagues all get vaccinated, I wonder if we'll go back to the office?

Still trying to decide whether to sign up for the U of I walking challenge. I should just sign up for it and not dither. Done. I'll have to experiment if walking on the treadmill will count, although it would be good to walk outside.

I'm wondering if I should sign up for Android App Development on Coursera over the summer to keep my hand in Java plus learn a new skill. I have a time tracking app that I'd like to code. (I want it to remind people to track their time.) And hmm, Coursera also has a singer-songwriter specialization, although I'm not ready for it yet. They also have a How to Play Guitar specialization.

Got my homework done but it's late. I probably should go straight to sleep without practicing. Bah. And I still have a headache.

Got the stimulus check. I bid on the laptop, and right now, I'm the highest bidder. The auction ends tomorrow. Booked my next two voice lessons.

The University is having a walking challenge from April through June, and I'm pondering if I should join it.

It's gloomy and a little rainy. I'm sleepy today.

Now I was outbid for the laptop. Need to decide what to do. Need to look at other laptops. I think that 8 GB RAM should be enough for my purposes. Now I'm debating between an HP (slightly cheaper) or Lenovo with similar specs.

The guitar teacher with whom I was working encouraged me to buy his online class and take private lessons. Well, of course he did, but I liked him and what he had to say. He said that he worked a lot with singer-songwriters (he's in Nashville), so working with him might be good. Yeah, I think that I do want to study with him. He's also a songwriter. Hmm, if I did piano lessons too, I could study guitar on Wednesday, piano on Tuesday or Thursday, and voice on Friday. I don't want any of them back to back.

The Lousy Laptop was behaving well during my lesson. Go figure. But I still want to replace it. I bought a refurbished HP laptop with 8 GB memory. That should cope better with Zoom.

I bought the first installment of the rock piano online class.

Now that I'm bringing out the guitar, I need to get a hard case for it because I trip over guitars. Done. People who leave their guitars out on a stand amaze me. I am klutz city.

I'm going to go to the store to get wraps and lunch meat because I have a piano lesson during lunch, and I have about 20 minutes to eat before I need to go to my COVID shot. Tomorrow promises to be interesting. Done.

Did my decluttering. Now my back hurts, so I'm posting while I rest it.
