So Now I'm Moving Next Week

Got the water account straightened out. Nothing from the movers yet. Okay, the movers called me. They said that they could try to get the entire move done tomorrow, which I'm dubious about and I also could use the extra time, or it'll be on the 29th and 30th. I chose the latter. I need to call Mom to discuss it with her. I also need to decide whether to go get the cats or not, but that will depend on what Mom wants to do. A lot depends on when mower guy can dig me out too.

I just texted mower guy to see if he can dig me out after the storm. He said that he'll do the best that he can, which doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. And it'll run smack into the holidays. I need to find someone in the Champaign-Urbana area to do likewise. What a mess.

I really want to stay home today instead of going to the storage space, but that depends on what's going on next week.

Had a long chat with Mom. She thinks that with everything that's going on plus she hasn't been feeling great that we should just cancel her trip. It's good that we're on the same page. She says that I should pick up the cats right away. She doesn't want her "grandkitties" to be unhappy! (I'll board them when the actual move happens.)

I'm going to take a nap before picking up the girls.

I'm looking at used mudroom benches on Facebook Marketplace. I also found a nice dining set, but I'd have to figure out how to get it to the new place. If it's still available after my move, I'll rent a truck and go get it. Maybe a mudroom bench too.

Got squared away with the vet. I sprung the girls from jail, er, picked them up from boarding. Mimi is telling me her tale of woe. Mimi is on my lap. Zara is checking the place out. Now she's been spending a lot of time on my lap. I think that I was missed :) I made an appointment to board them next week. I'll have to pick up the girls on the third, so I'll need to take a half-day off of work.

Hmm. I was thinking of going to the grocery store, but I'll go tomorrow. It's good to be here with the cats.

Contacted a couple of places about snow removal in Urbana. One place said that they would have to see the place, which is reasonable, but I'd have to make an extra trip next week to be there. I'll see what the other place says. Actually, the first guy said that he would go over to the place today or tomorrow to give me an estimate.

Made a gyro sandwich from the kit from Aldi. It was quite good, and it couldn't be easier to make. I'll have to look for a good Greek restaurant in Champaign-Urbana.

The fingers of my left hand have been bugging me off and on. I'm wondering if I'm getting a little arthritis.

Napped with Mimi. She left, and now Zara's snuggling up to me. I need to get packing, but I don't want to disturb Z, who's asleep. Mimi disturbed her.

The armoires in my bedroom in the new house don't have doors. I'm wondering if I could put up curtains and am looking at curtain rods.

Started laundry. I'll finish it in the morning.
