Nebraska was quite good. It isn't as relentlessly depressing as you might think; it has a couple of laugh-out-loud moments. Some people are calling it a comedy, but I don't know that I'd call it a comedy or a drama. It's kind of both, like life. And it doesn't have a Hollywood ending (which is a good thing), but has a satisfying ending. I recommend it.

I was planning to watch Dallas Buyer's Club next weekend, but I think that I want to watch something lighter. I'm planning on watching Princess Bride again because I haven't seen it in years. And yes, I absolutely love the Roku box. Best purchase that I've made in a while. I recommend getting one if you have the setup for it.

Harlee is pretty smart. She knows that when I sleep later, that means that I'm staying home most of the day. During the week, she'll give me a few pro-forma "Pet me!" meows in the morning, but generally leaves me alone. On the weekend, however, she gives me what for if I don't pet her when I get up. After all, she is "She Who Must Be Obeyed"!

The Chicago Tribune is driving me crazy. I subscribed to multiple copies of the Sunday paper about a month and a half ago, but never got the paper. I contacted the paper, and they said that the subscription never got in the system. So I called again, and they re-subscribed me. I asked for a confirmation but the rep said that they didn't give confirmations, but it was entered into the system, "and you should get your papers on Sunday". I told her that someone else said that it takes two weeks for the paper to get into the delivery system, but she said that they were wrong. No papers today. Sigh. I don't think that my neighbors are taking them because I've had other stuff delivered to my door, and no one touches the delivered stuff. I do not want to have to call them again. (Unfortunately, the local paper doesn't have as many coupons. Otherwise I'd get it instead.) Getting the New York Times (as my primary paper) on the Kindle Fire is working well.

I'm really battling a nasty depression that keeps getting worse and worse. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, thank goodness, and I hope that I'll start getting treatment. I can't go on like this. Somehow I've got to finish my homework today, though. And go to the grocery store, and pick up the chest that I bought to hold the old TV.

Gym

I'm thinking of joining a gym in Bloomington-Normal because, while I have access to the gym at Lincoln, I want to go home and eat dinner before I go to the gym (plus I'd like to go on the weekends). The possibilities are:

  • 4 Seasons Club: Perfect gym including a pool and swim lessons, a distance away, $50 a month. Probably not.

  • Fitness Connexion: Woman-only gym that's supposed to be supportive; great classes, but the classes would be hard to get to on time from work; closes early; fairly nearby; $45 a month. Probably not.

  • Anytime Fitness, very far away, 24-hours, probably $40 a month. No.

  • YMCA: pool with swim lessons, some late classes, very far away, $40 a month. Maybe.

  • LA Fitness: very close by (near the grocery store too), pool but no swim lessons, has some late classes, open late, $30 a month. I think that this is a clear winner.

I was about to go to the grocery store, when I looked at my list and realized that the only reasons that I need to go today is for 1) the Sunday Chicago Tribune and 2) the trunk that I ordered for the old TV. I can wait until tomorrow. I think that I need to put couponing on a hiatus until I get the paper delivered to me (I hope). I do have to pick up the trunk tomorrow, or they might send it back. Getting homework done and a good night's sleep is more important tonight.
