My Mom Is Here

My mom made it here, which, given that she had hip replacement surgery a couple of months ago, is impressive. We talked for hours tonight. (In fact, I got so involved in talking with her that I didn't eat dinner until now.) Harlee is taking my mom sleeping on "Harlee's" futon (most expensive cat bed ever!) with her usual bad grace. So...life is good. And I can sleep in!

And happy 4th of July to everyone! ravengirl, someone lit some firecrackers outside and the girls weren't phased by it. Hope that your two manage to cope well with the holiday.

Raccoon?

Something pulled off my ripest tomato, took a bite out of it, and left it on the railing of my deck. Insult to injury -- it could have at least eaten the entire tomato. I suspect a raccoon. That means that when I was leaving cat food out, a raccoon was probably eating it. Oops.

We're having a lazy day today. We hung out on the deck and talked, and I watered the plants. Right now, my mom is taking a nap, but I couldn't sleep. My plan is to clean out the refrigerator when she gets up, throw myself together, clean out the car, wash and vacuum the car, and then we'll go grocery shopping. Later, we'll probably eat dinner here and watch Princess Bride.
