A week ago, there was a storm over Lincoln, where I work, and there was some flooding in the street outside the library.

However, we thought that our cars were parked far enough out that they were okay. Well, the part-timer who works on Thursday nights told me that the passenger side of her car had been flooded. I checked my car, and yes, the passenger side was soaked. I noticed a bad smell in the car over the last few days, and that must be what's causing it.

So I need to get the water and mildew out the the car. Saturday, there's supposed to be "abundant sun" according to Weather.com, so that's a good day to clean it up. I bought a small wet-dry vac and a very long extension cord. I also have white towels to blot up moisture that the wet-dry vac doesn't pull out. Lowe's has a anti-mildew spray that doesn't have bleach in it, so I'm planning to get some of it. I also bought Lysol for the same reason. Can you think of anything that I can do besides what I've mentioned?

What a pain. A brand-new road atlas also got wet, but it's not hard to replace it. I'm anxious to get the mildew out of the car now that I know that it's there. I had hoped to bring some boxes that I've saved for a friend in Kenosha (about 3 hours from here one way) to her this weekend, but not if the boxes will get wet. We get Monday and Tuesday off for "Fall Break," so I'm trying to catch up on a bunch of stuff.
