Follow Your Bliss
Jul. 21st, 2016 12:00 amI'm giving up on the idea of starting a pet-care business. I just don't have the dog experience. In a large city, I might try to make a go of it caring for cats only, but not in this town. It's a dog town, although I know several people who have both dogs and cats.
Younique isn't really my thing either. When I was younger, I could have done a great job with Younique, but I can't say that my passion right now is makeup. I'd like to still be involved with it a little though because I like the discounts.
So what are my passions?
1. Books and learning. I get some of that in my librarian position.
2. Cats. Already considered that.
3. Travel.
My dad worked for United Airlines when I was a kid, and we traveled all over. I love, love travel, although I haven't been doing nearly enough of it. There was a period of time that I considered being a travel agent, but my dad informed me that he didn't send me to college to become a travel agent. But now I'm considering doing it part-time from home. My focus would be on retirement and senior travel.
So now I'm doing my due diligence. One big thing that I'd need to do is go on a cruise because I've never been on one. So I'll keep my eye out for a short, cheap one. (My dream cruise is cruising the Mediterranean, but that's pricey.)
No one gets rich as a travel agent, but there are some nice travel perks. The combo of being a librarian and a travel agent sounds like a pretty nice life. And I could see jumping out of bed to work on travel agent stuff, which isn't true for a lot of other endeavors.
