Best Laid Plans

The pet sitter is sick. We rescheduled for Wednesday because I'm working Monday and Tuesday, which is a little close to when I leave, but I'm going to assume that it will work out. It gives me more time to clean, anyway.

Mom Update

I talked to my mom last night. She's supposed to get out of the hospital today. She feels much better, and her legs are less swollen. She thinks that she got out of the hospital too early when she had pneumonia. So that's good that she's feeling better.

She's a little worried about me driving to Detroit, but I told her that I won't take risks, and I'll stop if it starts snowing hard. She's looking forward to my being there though. She wishes that I could take the cats with me, but no, I'm not going to do that. Everyone except Mimi is a real stress case in the car.

Getting Ice Off of Car

The ice is good and stuck on my car. I've spent 20 minutes on it, and have cleared only a small area on the front window. Any tips on getting it off?

I finally got enough ice off of my car to see by using lukewarm water, and letting the car warm up for a long time with the defrosters on. Still took around an hour. After I got the ice off, I went back inside to thaw my hands and feet, plus change my jeans because I got water on them. I did get my errands run. Except I wanted to pick up de-icer and extra wiper fluid, but forgot because they weren't on my list! $#$%! I am NOT going back out tonight.

I spun out in Dollar Tree's parking lot--apparently they didn't de-ice it--but luckily, I wasn't close to anybody.

I'm daydreaming of Hawaii :)
