One of my neighbors got some of my mail in their mailbox and dropped it by. That was nice. Zara vanished for a while. Someone who is not me coming to the door is clearly up to no good.

Zara has been a lot more talkative since I came back from Chicago. She meowed at me when I fed her, and usually she's silent.

The winters are definitely getting warmer. The temps are staying in the 40s F (30s at night) and even might get to 50. In January. I know that it's not good, but I have to say that I'm kind of enjoying it.

The person selling the hiking boots on eBay dropped the price, so I bought them. The boots have gotten really good reviews online.

Had a nice nap, although my brain was whirring when I lay down. I couldn't find Zara anywhere, and she turned out to be in my closet.

I'm trying to figure out my game plan. I need to gather garbage to put out to be collected. I need to scrub a litter box. I want to clean the kitchen, but I'm going to make burritos later, so it doesn't make sense to clean until after I make them. Now Mimi is on the futon, which puts a wrinkle in washing the blanket on it, although she won't hiss if I pull it off, unlike Zara. Maybe I'll do 1) garbage (done), 2) litter box (done), 3) put away laundry (done), and 4) clean the TV room/guest bathroom/office (swept up litter in the TV room because Mimi will pee on litter on the floor). But first, I'm eating.

I'm making cheddar biscuits and waiting for the oven to preheat. They're done, and wow, they are delish.

I started looking at small TVs on eBay because my TV seems to be slowly dying, but I'm not planning to get one right now. I actually have enough room for a larger TV, but I really don't need one.

Made my sweet potato-black bean-avocado burritos. I used the chef's knife for the first time, and it made chopping easy. The burritos are good. And messy. And filling. I ate one and am letting the filling cool down before making burritos for the fridge and freezer.

I had to look at the Golden Globes Red Carpet fashions. I totally disagreed with MSN's fashion arbiter because I like understated fashions and he or she liked bling.

Back to work tomorrow.

The whole world is festering with unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don't like anybody very much!!

They're rioting in Africa
There's strife in Iran
What nature doesn't do to us
Will be done by our fellow man

Seemed appropriate. Plus ça change....Apparently students are worried about a draft. That reminds me of the best April Fool's trick ever. When I was in college, the college newspaper ran an April Fool's article saying that then-President Reagan had reinstituted the draft. We all believed the article. After reading some less-plausible articles, we realized that we had been had. So this type of thing has been going on for a long time. And no draft.

Had a hard time getting moving this morning.

Zara is coming into the kitchen to use the litterbox, even though there's one in the bedroom. Goof :)

I found a 32-inch Smart TV that I like on eBay, but I'm still not going to get it right now. I'll keep it in mind for the future. Now I'm looking at used TVs on Facebook Marketplace. There are some good deals out there. There's a used 32-inch Smart TV in Springfield that I'm considering.

Work has been quiet. I discussed Star Wars with my boss. Neither of us was thrilled with it.

When I got home, I gathered up some library books to return. I spent some time with Mimi on my lap.

I'm tired. I'm going to make it an early night.
