Episode 8: Where the Shit Hits the....

All hell is breaking out at work.

The people doing the inventory are behind schedule, so I might have to come in some weekend and help them. Then we discovered that the call numbers for a decent-sized section are screwed up, and I need to fix them. I'm hoping that the techies at the consortium can find a way to flag the ones that need fixing, but I'll still have to fix them by hand. I told the people doing the inventory to work on another section while I figure what to do with this section and another section that probably is similarly screwed up. The good news is that I could work on it from home, so maybe one day next week, I'll work from home in shorts and a t-shirt, crank music, and power through them.

Well, I suppose this is job security....

On the other hand, the person at the Normal campus who runs the Learning Resource Center is off this summer, but nonetheless, she is helping me put a process in place to assign library barcodes to students at the Normal campus when they start in the fall. (We thought that we wouldn't have to assign barcodes because we were getting a new badge machine...but we learned today that the company from whom we were getting the machine is going out of business. Oh well.) She's a rock.

I did make it to my meeting this morning, and now I'm exhausted. I think that it's going to be an early night. Maybe I'll order business cards and flyers for my makeup business though. I was supposed to get my starter's kit for my business today, but it didn't arrive. Probably just as well, I'll have more time to play with it on the weekend.

The people in the apartment to one side of me are moving out, and they have been there only for a few months. I think that apartment is cursed. It's not because of me, really -;)

And I just received a note that the apartment maintenance people are power-washing the decks tomorrow, and I need to get everything off of the deck. Given that I have a garden out there, that will be no small task. Crap.

I'm surprised your kit didn't get there today. I hope it's there tomorrow! I had so much fun opening mine and looking at everything! I couldn't decide what I wanted to try first. And of course then I started a wish list of everything else I wanted to try. LOL

Yeah, I also want to order some foundation, concealer, and blush, but have been slowed down trying to figure out whether my skin has warm or cool tones. I've decided that my skin has neutral to cool tones. (I was in Walgreens looking at other makeup to see what matched!)

Looking at your FB profile picture I'd say BB Flawless in Cream. Maybe Bisque depending on how true the lighting is in your photo. Powder in Scarlet or Organza. Concealer in Frisky or Fabulous. And blush in Sweet.

I can't use any of the blushes. They all have just a bit too much pink for my skin tone so I use the concealer in Foxy as a blusher.

The picture makes my face look more red than it is. I actually want to get a mineral foundation rather than a cream foundation; I've been using L'Oreal's mineral foundation and love it. I was debating between Scarlet and Organza, but I think that I'll try Scarlet because I wear the lightest L'Oreal foundation. Hmm, you don't think that I should use Fresh as a concealer? By the way, I received my Starter's Kit, which is exciting!

I was afraid that Fresh might be too pale for you. But you know your skin better than I do. I'm just going off of a picture. LOL

I have the Touch foundation and pressed powder too but I have to say that for a foundation I prefer the BB Flawless. It just feels lighter to me and I feel like it gives me better coverage.

I didn't realize that there would be concealers in the Starter's Kit. I'll try different ones to see what works best.

That's just what I was about to say! You have all of the blushers and concealers so you can figure out what suits you best before you order.

"I think that it's going to be an early night." Ha ha. I just got everything off of the deck a little while ago, and I was petting Harlee in the office (into which she conveniently followed me) until she realized that the gate was closed. Then she went off to hide in the closet. (I don't know if maintenance will have to come through the townhouse to get access to the deck, but better safe than sorry.) I'm taking a short break, doing kitty maintenance, and then dragging my weary carcass to bed.
