Crud, it's predicted to go down to 6F/-14C. I need to set the faucets to dripping. Ugh, there’s a wind chill right now of -2F.

Lily was a little snotty. She stayed down in the basement until she heard me feeding Oliver, and then she wanted to come up.

Got up at 7:30 AM (overslept). My dental appointment did get canceled, but they rescheduled me for 4 PM tomorrow, which is actually better for me.

The uni sent information about what you retain in retirement, which includes an email address, Office 365 on the Web, and access to the university libraries. Not bad. One thing that I want to do in retirement is add tags to my older journal entries.

I mixed up something at work, and I'm hating on my brain.

Apparently the shelter sent a screen capture of Bella's shot records, and I missed it, so I made an appointment for her at the vet on Wednesday. And I made a follow-up appointment for Mimi next week. Things are cooking. I have to get the harness adjusted for her. Though PetSmart has a collar with a handle on it, which might be useful. But I have piano tomorrow night. I'd have it delivered, but I need to look at the sizes. Actually, I found the sizes so I'll order it for delivery.

I got my Costco order. I keep forgetting that when you order dry food from them, you’re ordering a 25-pound bag! So I have 25 pounds of food for Oliver and Lily.

Lily still seems to be okay though, even though she ate pizza sauce. I hope that we dodged a bullet.

I begged off of choir. I’m feeling achy and sinus headachey and it’s cold and there’s ice by my car. And apparently “occasional snow”?

I need to check whether I renewed my membership in AARP. I thought that I had?

I found a Road Scholar trip that I want to take when I retire. It’s a trip to Australia and New Zealand, and it’s a month long. But it would save the airfare for two separate trips.

I want to take a nap. I have Oliver, Bella, and a munchie bone in the bed with me. Life with pets :) Aww. Oliver gave me a little kiss. Bella was bugging Oliver, so I put her out. Oliver let me sleep for quite a while, but woke me up around 11 PM biting.

I ordered the collar for Bella.

Paid my sewer bill. Now I think that I'm completely caught up.

I need to finish feeding the cats and scoop the litter boxes, and then I'll go back to bed.

We're getting a halfway decent raise this year, which would help pay for a Miami trip. Cool. And Google says that November is one of the best times to visit Miami. And I can get the hotel that I like as a package (flight plus hotel) from Expedia.

I'm debating attending a Smithsonian webinar about travel. It's $25, and it seems to be aimed more at people going overseas, but I kind of want to go. Hmm.

I ran out and returned and picked up library books. I've got the book about moving, which I plan to devour. And I picked up walnuts for the spinach salad and more stir-fry veggies, plus some other odds and ends. I've already got the Just Add Water System bathroom cleaner. That was fast!

I'm still poking at a trip to Australia, although I wouldn't go for a while because I want to compare notes on Europe trips with my mom. Anyway, I was thinking that if I want to go to Sydney and Melbourne, I should just go to those places instead of taking a cruise. Hotels are surprisingly reasonable. The time change is brutal though. I'd have to allow extra time for that. Same for Bora Bora. Business class is $7000, but sitting in economy would be rough (16 hours!) I also looked into breaking up the flight by stopping in Honolulu, but it would be more expensive. Oh, and I'd want to go in spring or fall because weather.

I attended a webinar about travel tips. One thing that I didn't know is that some airlines pay for a hotel if you have a long layover. Another tip is that you can use Skyscanner ro find the cheapest destination in a particular month or anytime. (I knew that you could do something like that with Kayak, but I prefer Skyscanner.) Also, if you are going overseas, you can send your itinerary to the local embassy as a safety fall back. In the US, it's the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program.

Now I need to work on the kitchen....Oops, I forgot to do laundry. I'm tired (due to the heat?), but I need to stay up until it's done. Got into my sleeping t-shirt and shorts, and it's amazing how much cooler it feels.

I'm feeling dizzy and my knee hurts, so I think that I'll go to bed before the dryer stops. I might read my moving book for a while.

Woke up at 8:30 AM. Decided to go back to sleep. Woke up at 11, when my meditation session was. Oh well. Forgot about it.

Oh! I did order Earth Breeze (detergent sheets) already! Just got it. Oh well, I'll have two orders of it. It should last me the better part of a year. I emailed them asking to cancel the new order, but it's no big deal if they say that they can't cancel it. They shipped it already but refunded the money anyway! Wow! I told them they are great people!

I skipped ahead in my Bora Bora book to things to do in Bora Bora. It looks like the hotel that I picked is on the sunset side of the island. Cool.

Went to apply cleanser to the tub, only to find that the bottom of my cleanser is coming off. Aargh. Smeared cleanser on to soak and then ate lunch.

I feed the cats at 6 PM. It's now 4 PM. Zara has started her food watch. Now she's sleeping in the middle of the kitchen floor so she can keep an eye on me but still get her Z's in. Goofy cat :)

Looked at Hawaii Web cams. Looked for Bora Bora Web cams, but they all seem to be gone. Oh well.

Got the tub scrubbed out. Good. I'm waiting for it to drain and am soaking dishes in the meanwhile. Need to scrub the kitchen sink (done). Did dishes. Scrubbed the tub.

Showered and shaved my legs and am feeling squeaky clean. Threw on shorts and a tee-shirt. Fed the girls six minutes late. They weren't thrilled. (Well, actually, I'd hate to have to wait to eat until someone fed me, so I sympathize.)

My a/c has been going non-stop. (It's 88 F out.) My electric bill is going to suck.

Cruises are really cheap right now. I kind of wish that I wasn't moving this year, but I'll be happy once it's done. I would like to do something nice for my 60th birthday in the fall however. I wonder how much a cheap trip to Florida would cost? Clearwater Beach? Hmm, airfare to Miami is cheaper, and it's a place that I've wanted to go to. Oh! I found the perfect hotel in South Beach. I want to make this happen! I ordered a Miami book. South Beach is a bar kind of place, and I'm not a bar kind of person, but if there was a brunch place with mimosas and Eggs Benedict, I would indulge. (Found a place!) Otherwise, I love Art Deco, so I'd run around taking pictures of the buildings. I think that I'd take a day trip to Key West. I've been there, but I love the Overseas Highway. Key West is also kind of a party town, so I think that I'd take a glass-bottomed boat trip there.

I'm pricing a cruise in Australia and in New Zealand because I want to take my really expensive trips while I'm still working. I should price a cruise up the Yangtze in China too.

Peeled and chopped the sweet potatoes for my burritos, so they'd be ready when I get hungry. I'm starting to feel shaky though, so I should get started. I decided to roast the sweet potatoes so that they will be good and soft. Made the burritos. They're tasty and filling. Now I'm feeling sleepy.

Got the food put away and dishes soaking in the sink. I think that I will go to sleep early and get up early.
