The conference went through the morning. I'm still processing the conference.

My friend Don did get back to me, so I'm going downtown this afternoon.

Had a leisurely lunch at Denny's and then headed downtown. I'm at the public library now, charging my phone.

My friend has had problems sleeping, so it looks like we won't meet for dinner. I told him that I'm going to head for the airport at 6 if I don't hear from him.

I didn't hear from him, so I headed for the airport. I spent slightly over an hour outside of the secure area reading. Then I started to get hungry, so I went through security. Note to self: travel with fewer electronic devices.

Most of the restaurants had limited food because it was 8:30 and they closed at 9. I finally scored a chicken-salad sandwich on raisin bread, which was good. I'm also in a good spot to watch the planes taxi and take off. I'm in no hurry to get to the gate because it's still two hours to flight time.

My friend called me around 9 PM. He had just woken up. We chatted a little. Now I'm at the gate.

On the plane. Surprisingly full flight for a red-eye. I did get some sleep, although there was turbulence and the person next to me kept on knocking into me.

At Atlanta airport, waiting for the Chicago flight.

Overslept, but still made it to the venue with plenty of time for breakfast. The walk is getting easier.

Had an easier time staying awake.

The conference is a collective as well as a conference, so there are a lot of people that know each other already. Feeling a little like a fish out of water, although the people are nice.

The Airbnb host said that I could leave my bags at the Airbnb tomorrow morning while the conference is wrapping up. Excellent.

Figured out how to get downtown tomorrow afternoon.

Had some delicious food for lunch, including couscous. Have to make some more.

Decided to not go to the social gathering tonight. Tomorrow is going to be a very, very long day, so I want to take a nap and mostly pack.

I'm debating whether to go straight to the airport tomorrow after I pick up my stuff. It would be boring, but simpler.

Hmm. I ordered from the 55+ menu at Denny's, and the server didn't question it :) I guess that I'm now old.

Trying to decide whether I should do homework and stay up late enough to check into my flight, or go to sleep. Sleep seems to be winning.

Woke up in about perfect time to go to the conference. Walked over (slightly over a mile). I've been drowsy this morning, so I think that I'll skip the evening reception and take a nap instead. I've been to the Tech before anyway.

The thing with (largely) coding conferences is that you get a 10,000 foot view of people's projects. Good for inspiration for starting your own projects, but not much info about actually implementing them.

Lunch was make-your-own-taco. Couldn't have been more messy, but it was free. Well, included in the conference fee != free, but it wasn't coming out of MY pocket.

Now I'm back at the Airbnb. I'm certainly getting my exercise; it's a slightly over a mile walk one way. And I'm going to walk to dinner later. It's nap time now.

I thought that I couldn't fall asleep due to all the coffee that I drank today, but the next thing that I knew, I had overslept the alarm.

Now I just ate fattening pancakes at Denny's. The location of the Airbnb couldn't be better with Denny's and 7 Eleven within walking distance.

Time to crash....
