The Weather Channel keeps telling me that there’s fog out. Thanks, I can see it.

I have an impulse to go back to sleep for a half-hour, but I got a ton of sleep last night. I won’t get the will and trust docs modified this morning though. I’ll do that tonight. Both Bella and Oliver are in here, and the combo of them is not restful. Sigh. Oliver bit my foot, which earned him a trip out of the bedroom. I did sleep.

I have a meeting at 11 and one at 1, so no nap at lunchtime or no errands.

I tripped and fell, and my Apple Watch was concerned. I'm fine. It's good to have the emergency button on my watch though.

I need to clear some space in my living room to park the air conditioner for upstairs. It's been spending time on my porch.

Target Optical is open 9 - 6 tomorrow and Country Arbors Nursery is open 9 - 5. They are opposite directions from each other. If I could get to bed early, that would be good.

Lunchtime. Bella is watching Squirrel TV.

It’s chilly downstairs, but I don’t want to put on a hoodie only to take it off again when I go upstairs to work.

Bella stuck her nose in my carrot cake.

A guy wants to come by to buy the pet ramp that I bought for Bella, but she didn't need it. So I popped in my tooth and got some stuff out of the basement stairs. No response from him yet. He's coming by at 4 (done).

We're having a Munchie Bone emergency. I need to submit a Walmart order that includes them. And order a box of them from Amazon (done).

Urgh, my head is pounding.

There is a part Poodle and part Irish Setter dog that caught my eye. However, she's a senior dog, and I wonder if she could keep up with Bella, who is 1. She's a real cutie and is supposed to be sweet too.

It occurred to me the other day that I could get back into piano by playing what I want. I should look for some "easy piano" books (done).

Fed us all. Bella was annoyingly digging in the front yard. She likes to do that when the ground is wet.

Now I'm working on the will and trust documents. Okay, I sent drafts of the documents to the executor and trust people. I should head towards bed.

Woke up at 5 AM. Went back to sleep. Woke up at 7 AM. This time, I got up.

Hmm. It just occurred to me that I don’t know where my carry-on bag is for the flight. I guess that I’ll look for it today, and if I don’t find it, order one. I was looking at one that matches the bag that I took to Italy, but sheesh, expensive.

Now I’m telling Zara, who is being totally manic, that she’s goofy.

Had a nice nap.

Hmm. Corded dethatchers are much cheaper than cordless. I suppose that I could run a cord from the basement. I’d need a long extension cord or maybe two cords to get to the other side of the house. Hmm, maybe I should bite the bullet and get a cordless one. I want to do fall maintenance on the lawn, and it has to happen in the next few weeks. I bought one on eBay that was missing a battery, and bought the batteries and charger from Amazon. It still was cheaper than the Greenworks one.

The cats are restless because they want food early.

I got the hanging planters for the spider plants. I guess that I’ll hang them tomorrow.

My back has been bothering me, so I put a chair in the library room and got to work. Made some good progress. Found my swim bag and ordered a lock for it. Then I’ll keep it in the car. Found my Clorox scrubber now that I ordered a new scrubber. I hope that it will make quick work of the bathrooms.

A pair of my glasses are missing. I need to order more.

I have way too many clothes and need to Marie Kondo them though.

I bought a used Hartmann carry-on bag for less than half the cost of a new one. It doesn’t match my big suitcase, but that’s okay. Have I said lately that I love eBay?

Put some items on Buy Nothing to get picked up.

Took a nap and really zonked out. The cats want to be fed. Mimi is telling me that woe is her. Zara is staring at me.

I want to post my extra Pacsafe backpack on eBay, but I need a padded mailer for it (ordered). I need one for the boots too.

I started studying Italian using the reword app. I had planned to study 20 words a day, but these words are much harder than the words that I’ve been studying. They cover more complex concepts. I’m trying to write sentences with them, but it’s hard.

Got the garbage from the library room bagged up. The upshot is two bags of garbage plus the stuff that I’m donating or selling.

Had some Avocado Ranch salad. It was quite good. Meanwhile, Mimi has been complaining, so I gave her some dry food.

I ordered a new pair of glasses from Zenni. And I got 10 percent off because I'm a student!

I'm eyeing this cabinet from Target, but it has no reviews yet. It's on sale though. I really like this one too, but it's more expensive.

Hmm. I'd kind of like to spend some time on Lake Michigan this summer, but I have too much on my plate. I'll look at hotels though. Note to self: New Buffalo Inn and Spa. Go for a walk on the beach and then get a spa treatment :) Oooh: Total Relaxation Package: Relax and have the ultimate Spa Day with an 80 Minute Massage, a Custom Facial and an Herbal Bath in our hydrotherapy tub! Expensive, but sounds heavenly. That would be nice after the move if I have the money. Or maybe I could do a spa day in Champaign and save on the hotel and time.

I connected with a guy who really wants the bike that I'm selling for his wife. He'll come by tomorrow. I hope that this wife likes it.

Took a nap and slept through until morning. I didn't wake up until my alarm went off again at 9 AM, and went, "Shit, I need to get to work."

Because I slept through last night, I missed the news that there was another Sandy Hook-type shooting. When are we going to pass stronger background check laws? It won't solve everything, but it surely will help. The Onion has it right: "‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens".

It was a meeting-o'rama at work. Finally, I can work on stuff.

I sold the bicycle. Far out. We had some problems getting the tires pumped up, but he got it to work.

I looked at a backpack that I have to see if I want to keep it, but no, it's going to Goodwill if they'll take it. (They don't take luggage.) Then I looked at travel backpacks because I want one for traveling and found a few possibilities.

Here comes some rain. They're predicting more tonight. And I need to go grocery shopping.

Lay down for a while because I have a headache. Couldn't sleep. Looked at house prices in Champaign-Urbana, and there are some that would be in my price range in a couple of years. Awesome.

Hmm. The storms are supposed to be over at 10, so I'll hole up for the meanwhile and work on my file drawers. I'm glad that I'm keeping one of the filing cabinets because there are some files that I want to keep. But I'm chucking a lot of stuff out.

Back from the store with ingredients for Apple Spinach Salad and veggie burritos. Walmart was out of butternut squash for the burritos, so I substituted sweet potatoes and bought a bag of them and doubled my ingredients for my recipe. I'll feed the freezer too. Burritos are great food for not wanting to cook. I didn't get peanut butter because it wasn't on my list. I need to run to Aldi.

I need to load and start the dishwasher and crash.

Overslept because my obnoxious alarm clock stopped. I need to find or buy a new battery for it. Threw some clothes on and logged on.

The books that I ordered have shipped. That was fast, given that they're all used books.

Mower guy came. Oh good.

Found a new project at work to sink my teeth into. Good. I hate being bored.

Just remembered to check on Zara. It always concerns me when she doesn't check out my lunch, but she seems okay. Right now, she's telling me that she wants food.

Dad said that the California fire has crossed over into Nevada, but "they're okay and assume that they're okay".

So humid that you could wring out the air. I ran out to do some grocery shopping, pick up meds, and the like. I got less than I had planned at Aldi because they were taking cash only. Bah. And Walgreens filled an old prescription of mine along with current ones. Maybe I selected it. I don't know. Now I'm chilling, both literally and figuratively. Except that Mimi is warming my lap.

I think that I'll work on the area near the washer and dryer. I have stuff piled up to put away. I also need to practice piano and voice. And I'm tired.

Hmm. This weekend, I want to change the broken string on the guitar that I don't want and list it for sale. I think that I'll only list it on Facebook Marketplace though because we don't have a UPS store in Lincoln to ship it at. If it doesn't sell, I'll list it on Mercari and eBay once I start working in Champaign.

Draggy Day

Had my normal breakfast and nap routine. When I got up, Zara was sleeping very deeply. I couldn't see her breathe, so I went over to her to check on her. She gave me a bleary-eyed look that said, "Huh?" I told her to carry on.

Took two naps. I must have needed them because now I feel much better.

Checked my garden while I watered it, and my zucchini has a flower! Come over here, pollinators.

Finally threw wash in the dryer.

Talked to Mom. She's concerned about my aunt. Apparently when my aunt had her surgery for cancer, the doctor told her that half of the patients live no more than five years, so she's concerned about that. I told Mom that my aunt might be in the longer-lived half. We don't know.

Had a pretty loud storm when I was talking to Mom. Zara toughed it out, but Mimi hid.

I think that it's time to go pedal the FitDesk, but Zara's on my lap, and I hate to kick her off.

I'm feeling really worn out. Talking to Mom always zonks me out, maybe because I relax and chill. And she always starts yawning, so I start yawning. I'm going to just make some Ramen and go to bed early.

I'm mulling over what I could sell on Mercari. I do have some clothes that don't fit, but they're clothes that I really like, so I'm having a tough time letting go of them.

Apparently camping is "in" right now. I thought that it was just me, but people are looking for safer ways to travel. I'm also thinking about "cheaper". The latest place that I'm looking at for camping is Pere Marquette State Park. I really want to go there, but hotel rooms are expensive. They have tent camping with a shower, but I'm not sure how quickly they fill up. You can't make a reservation for tent camping. I found a camping spot on private property about 30 miles from Pere Marquette. That might be the best place to stay for leaf-peeping.

It looks like the course materials for Statistics are cheaper than the ones for Calculus, so I'm thinking of taking Statistics in the fall instead. I hate to use cost to determine what I study, but I'm recovering from some financial hits. Calculus will still be there in a year from now.

Woke up at 11:30 AM.

There has been a feeding frenzy over some WetJet refills that I posted on Facebook Marketplace. I'm waiting for the first person to respond to get back to me.

I've been drafting LJ posts in Evernote, but now they want me to pay extra to sync across devices. Google Keep seems to be an Evernote clone, so now I'm using that.

I was trying to convince myself to get my butt in gear to finish cleaning the kitchen when Zara conveniently jumped on my lap. Thanks for the excuse to stay put, Zara!

Got my butt in gear without music because I don't want to miss the Facebook Marketplace person instant messaging me. Lots of kitty hair tumbleweeds. Noted that the TV room could use light dusting, sweeping, and mopping. Decided to concentrate on one thing at a time. Finished the kitchen.

Sold my WetJet refills. Put some clothes on the drying rack. Napped for a little while, and then read (finished Outer Order, Inner Calm and started The Four Tendencies) for a little while. It felt luxurious.

Made spaghetti with meatballs (with store-made sauce and meatballs). I kept on rebelling against making it because I thought that it was too much work, but I was able to read while cooking most of it. It was good.

Watched Apollo 11. I'll never live down saying that the TV picture was bad during the moon landing. (I was 6 years old and wasn't grasping the historical significance.) But if you wait for 50 years, you can get a good picture! I was riveted by the film even though I knew how it ended.

Zara is running up and down the hall now that I fed them. I think that it's time to go to bed and read (assuming Zara lets me be, but she has largely ceded the bedroom to Mimi).

Well-Rested

I woke up around 9 AM, and was up a little while. Then I decided to go back to sleep for "a little while". Woke up at 1 PM. Oh well. The girls were good and didn't wake me up even though they were hungry. (Actually, I wouldn't have minded if they woke me up a little earlier.) Mimi was stressy though until I fed her.

Harlee is still glomming the Pill Pocket. Good. And she likes the wet food-squash concoction, even though it looks gross to me, but apparently not to her. I think that her stools are a little firmer, but she still has some diarrhea.

I'm actually glad that I didn't go to Springfield last night because I needed to download my audio books to the new phone. They're all starting from the beginning, but that's okay. It'll save me money. I wonder if there's a way to get cheap Bluetooth headphones for cleaning. I discovered a new site for used things, Mercari, but Amazon has cheaper Bluetooth headphones.

I'm waiting for my laundry to finish, and then I will jump in the shower. The person who wants my HDTV antenna is still interested, so I'm going to drop it off. Then I'll head to Springfield. I had thought about going into work tonight because the weather will be better than tomorrow, but it looks like that won't happen.

No Sale

Well, that was a bust. I couldn't get the antenna to work with her TV. Oh well. I think that she didn't really understand what it was though. She wanted a list of channels, and I explained that she'd get whatever was broadcast. It got me moving anyway.

I sat with Harlee for a little while, but I think that she wants to complain more than anything else.

I'm going to eat something and get cracking on cleaning.

Zara just blew my mind. She was on the stove, and I told her to get off. She was measuring up the jump to the back of my chair, which was two feet away and is very narrow, and I told her that she couldn't do it. She did, landing perfectly. My talented girl :)

Someone wants the HDTV antenna, but she wants me to help her install it. The blind is leading the blind in that case, but I said okay. I'm going to go over in the late afternoon.

Made a bunch of progress on the living room. It's got bumped up in priority because my mom will be sleeping on the living room futon while she's here. Found an HDTV antenna that I've never used, so I posted it for sale on Facebook. (I basically got it for Downton Abbey, which is long gone.) Also found my dress pants; they had fallen under the futon.

Zara was disgusted and stalked off (the girls don't like this cleaning and organizing business), but now she's returned to the futon.

I'm still planning to see Star Wars at 9:30 PM. If it's sold out, there is a 10:00 showing as well.
days_unfolding: (Default)
I did get a gym/overnight bag that says Coca Cola listed for sale on Facebook. I had someone interested until I told her that it was lightly used. I should modify the listing to say that I've used it once. I might have to list it on eBay, but I'm not sure how I would ship it.

I discovered that a mirror that I was going to sell cost only $6 new, so it's not worth selling. I'll just bring it to the thrift shop, unless my friend at work's daughter might want it. (She just bought a house.) I also discovered to my dismay that the hose to my Oreck hand vac is missing. Need to check the car for it.

Hmm, I'm wondering if I should have a garage sale in the spring.

The Mimi thermometer said that it's been cold the past couple of days. She hasn't even been going by the door when I opened it (she's no dummy) and has been sleeping curled up next to me on the bed instead of sleeping on top of the dresser. Today, it's almost 50 degrees F, and she's going close to the door again, but isn't trying to dash out. I foresee problems in the spring, but we'll take it as it comes.

Fed the hordes and put laundry in. Now I'm finishing my coffee.
