Out Cold

Apparently I was tired last night. Really tired, because I woke up from my "nap" at 6:30 AM. Decided that was too early to get up, and went back to sleep until 9:30. Then I got up.

I missed feeding the girls last night, so they were really hungry. (I also missed dinner, but they don't care about that.) Mimi blamed Zara for being hungry, and she kept being aggressive with her, and I kept on telling her, "No." I turned my back to feed them, and they got into a yowling fight. I broke it up, and Zara ran upstairs. I promptly fed them.

We're all fed now. Mimi has had some time on my lap to mellow the fuck out.

I changed into shorts. I need to figure out a game plan for the day. Later in the afternoon, I want to go out and take pictures of country roads for the blog. Otherwise, I'm staying home.

I'm Back

I went trolling for "road trip" pictures. I did a few locally on old Route 66. I had thought to take some on the road to Peoria, but that gets a lot of traffic, and I didn't want to get creamed when I was on the side of the road. So I took Route 10, which goes through a lot of farm country, and eventually ends up in Champaign-Urbana. I had someone tailgating me, which I didn't like, but managed to turn off onto a county road and take pictures. (The farmers probably thought that I was nuts, but I don't care.) I think that this picture is the winner:
I also got a picture of a Route 66 sign here in town.

I have a closeup of it to use as the profile pic for the Facebook page for the blog.

I ran some errands (returned some library books and dropped some clothes at a thrift shop). Now I'm home. I'm taking a short break, and then I'll start laundry and scrubbing litter boxes.

Mom Report

Mom had a shot of steroids in her hip, and her hip stopped hurting almost immediately. Good deal.

Apparently last Saturday, my uncle was taken to the hospital with chest pains. He didn't have a heart attack, but there was fluid around his heart. However, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2012, which I didn't know, so anything could happen. My mom didn't tell me about it on Saturday because she knew that I had the presentation on Sunday.

My laundry is done, after trying to dry a load in a dryer that wasn't working well twice, cleaning me almost out of quarters. (Does anyone know if Monday is a bank holiday?) Harlee's litter boxes are scrubbed out.
