Well, one item is off of my list. I took a nap about 8:30 last night--and woke up at midnight. My mom had called, and I slept through it. I went back to sleep, and woke up at 5 AM. At that point, I was feeling a little shaky, so I ate a little cereal and drank some water, got ready for bed, turned out the lights, and went back to sleep. I woke up again about 9, and stayed up that time. The combination of the sleep and the Contac that I took has got me feeling pretty well.

No snow. It's a beautiful day out, so I might run errands later. And maybe go for a walk.

Homework awaits....

I'm in love with the Kindle Fire. It's awesome.

Now to go looking for The New.York Times....

Added: Along with the New York Times, I subscribed to the Kindle Fire version of Time magazine (which I get in print, but I'll do the free trial on the Kindle before I cancel it), a free trial of the Atlantic because it sounded interesting, and ShopSmart (which I subscribed to for a while and buy a lot). I was tempted by Britain's The Guardian (but you can access it through the Web), Le Monde (ditto), and the San Jose Mercury News so that I could keep up with what's going on in the Valley, but I'm trying to restrain myself.

I think that this is the best thing that I've bought in quite a while. I don't miss the print versions of items at all because it has pictures in awesome color. I can watch movies on it too if I want.

And now it's time to make pizza and set up the TV.

I finished my homework for this weekend. I do have an assignment due on Thursday and a final project proposal due on Friday, which I should work on, but I can legitimately go do something more fun right now (like set up the Kindle Fire and the TV!)

Oh, about the Kindle Fire--Amazon had a deal in which you could pay in installments without interest, so I caved in and got one. I want it for The New York Times and for magazines (and I could download my Kindle books to it as well). I plan to carry it with me pretty much everywhere I go.

I actually wound up with two tablets. One was on sale on eBay for a ridiculously low price, so I got it without doing research (dumb!) I found out that it isn't getting very good reviews on Amazon.com. Then the Kindle Fire deal came across. But my mom is going to have hip replacement surgery at the end of April, so I'm going to set it up for her and give it to her to use in the rehab place. (And it's not expensive, so if something happened to it, I wouldn't be really upset.) So everything works out the way that it's supposed to....
