I found an apartment building in Lincoln that is a set of townhouses. It isn't nearly as nice as my current townhouse: they're in the process of renovating it, and it really needs it; there is no basement or deck; and it's on a cul de sac with a lovely view of a corn field. However, between the lower rent and short commute, I would save $600 (if I rented the two-bedroom) or $500 (if I rented the three-bedroom). There's my student loan payment right there. And I could eat lunch at home. It might be time to suck it up and "suffer" a little bit to pay down my debts. They take pets "with some restrictions," but I need to contact them to find out exactly what their pet policy is.

However, I don't want to be in the middle of a move right when school starts (which is frighteningly soon). So my task for right now is to go through my stuff and get rid of as much as possible given that I'd have to move and would be in a smaller place. There's supposed to be some Bloomington online garage sale on Facebook that I need to find out more about. I have stuff to sell on eBay as well. And I have some books to sell on Amazon.com. I have my marching orders....

I needed to run to the Post Office to pick up a couple of packages. On the way there, I almost turned the wrong way to begin with and blew past the turn for the Post Office. I managed to pick up the packages and get home, but I'm feeling very shaky. I think that part of the problem might be that I'm dehydrated; I drank some peppermint iced tea, and that seemed to help somewhat. (Rule # 1 of living in Central Illinois in the summer--drink lots of water.) It's so beastly hot and humid out that my glasses fog up when I step outside. Eating something seems to be helping too. I have other errands to run and am playing beat the clock because it might storm later, but I'm not going anywhere until I feel better. I might just wait until tomorrow. A nap might be in order too.

Oh, I miss the dry heat of the Bay Area....

Well, the storm was a bust. We heard thunder, but it didn't rain (which means that I have to go out on the deck and water the "south forty" (garden)). It's now not supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'm going to run errands tomorrow instead of tonight. I really need to pick up the bicycle tomorrow though; otherwise they'll send it back on Tuesday.

So I'm running virtual errands instead. I just signed up as a Independent Younique Presenter, that is, I'm going to sell makeup as a sideline. We'll see how this goes. I like the fact that you can hold "virtual parties" online, which might work really well if I distribute marketing materials in some of the small towns in this area. I now have a web site that customers can use for orders. Obviously I won't have as much time to put into the business as someone who's doing it full-time, but if I could make enough to cover my car payments, I'd be ecstatic. I must remember to contact HR at the college on Monday; they want to know of any moonlighting jobs to make sure that there isn't a conflict of interest.

I also want to order some new blazers, shirts, and maybe pants that I saw in a couple of catalogs online; I keep doing laundry often because I don't have enough work clothes.

Maybe I'll watch a movie and mend some clothes (I really need to mend clothes!), but the fact that I'm yawning at 8:30 PM isn't a good sign. Maybe I'll just go to bed early and get up early.

Oh, and I received a huge box from Amazon.com containing toilet paper that was on sale, so I need to do something with that because it's in the middle of the front hall.
