I wound up getting my second wind and staying up late. Plan B is to log onto work at the usual time and work an extra 45 minutes in the evening.

Woke up at 6:30 AM. Took Bella out but decided that I wanted to get another half-hour of sleep, so I brought her in early.

Crazy cats are crazy and are chasing each other.

I'm looking at adult tricycles to use to run errands. There are stores that are not too far away to which I could bike. I found one that I like, and they sell it at a local bike shop, so they could put it together. Not sure how I'd get it home though. I could take side streets.

I got an email for the Amalfi Coast trip. Apparently you can customize where you stay and at what hotels. I don't need four-star accommodations. It sounds promising.

I've decided to grow snapdragons in my back part-sun garden bed. Lowe's has them. I was going to have them delivered, but that will double the cost of them, so I'll go by Lowe's this weekend. Actually, my eye doctor appointment this afternoon is nearby, so I'll pop in afterward.

I've run into a snag. My therapist is changing practices. She wants a LOCAL Emergency Contact Person, and I don't have one. I emailed her asking what to do. I really need to meet more people here. She said that she'll put a note to contact the local EMS if needed.

I'm mulling over volunteering at the local Humane Society. The good news is that I love working with cats; the bad news is that I love cats and don't want to end up with another one. Oliver and Lily get along so well that I don't want to rock the boat. Also, I have volunteered to take my dad and Sue's cat if they no longer can take care of him. He's a real cutie. (BTW, I'm adding the local Humane Society to my will. The proceeds from the sale of my car or cars will go to them. That should buy a lot of cat food.)

The appointment with the psychiatrist went quickly. She’s going to keep me on the increased meds and will see me in three months.

Bella is excited that I left and came back! She is happy! Silly pooch :)

I was wondering if the NokBox has a lock, and apparently there's a spot for a small combination lock. I want to put the logins for my bank accounts in it, but I don't want them available if someone breaks in. So I'll work on my list.

Created my list of bank accounts. It wasn't as bad as I thought last night. And almost finished my list of credit cards. But I need to get myself together for the eye doctor appointment.

The eye doctor appointment ran long. We were waiting a long time for the (virtual) doctor. My prescription didn’t change much and I have it in hand. Bought an expensive pair of glasses.

Went to Lowe’s and cleaned them out of snapdragons. Also bought a fern.

Bella is fussing over me again. So is Oliver, but he wants food.

Fed us all. Took a nap and slept until 1 AM.

Zara is snuggling next to me with her warm little body. Aww.

Overslept. I’ll take my shower at lunch.

Mimi: Hurry up Mommy, I'm starving!!! Me: No, you're not. Now that she ate, she wants to be petted. I told her that she's one spoiled cat.

Hmm. I went to fill out forms for my eye doctor appointment, and got a screen that said that they were going to send a notification to me, but didn't get one. I guess that I'll need to get there early to fill out forms. We're getting out of work early for the holiday weekend, which is nice. Crud. I don't get a free eye exam, unless I get it from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Okay, I got a new reminder about the exam and was able to fill out the forms.

I got my orthotic shoes delivered. I need to wear them to get used to them. Oh crap, they sent them to Michigan. I know that I put the new address in. Crap. My address is correct in the Shop app and it says that it was the default address. This is the second time that this has happened and I’m annoyed. I now deleted the old address. I guess that I’ll toss a pair of rain boots in my suitcase. I can’t find my rain boots. Sigh.

It’s pouring rain out. Oh great, there’s a flash flood warning.

Mimi wants food again. I gave her Zara’s leftover food. I don’t really want to pay to throw out food.

Oh great. Mimi peed on my backpack that I’m taking to Italy. It’s going to take a lot of scrubbing to get the smell out.

Had my eye doctor appointment. Ugh, I have the very beginning of cataracts. It’s too early to have surgery on them though. I did find a pair of glasses that I liked there, so I ordered them. But I came back with a prescription so that I can order rush from Zenni.

Now Zara wants food. But she had food in her dish, which I gave to her. She turned around and walked away. Cats!

I ordered a pair of "rush delivery" glasses from Zenni. I hope that the holiday doesn't mess things up. Speaking of messing things up, Mimi was walking on the laptop again. I shooed her off quickly because I didn’t want her to order glasses for me.

Now I'm going to take a nap. Napped until 9:30 PM. I just want to go back to sleep, so I'll do so.

Mammogram

Crud. It’s supposed to rain on Saturday. So much for mowing the lawn.

What the heck. I thought that I had an eye doctor appointment today, but I don’t see a confirmation in my email. I guess that I just have the mammogram today. Weird. Okay, the eye appointment did pop up, but it was too close to my mammogram appointment so I rescheduled it. (Juggling doctor's appointments is hard. And it's only going to get worse!)

Had the mammogram. I'm a little ouchy but okay. I'm continually impressed by the hospital at which I had it done. They're very helpful, friendly, and competent. I checked about weight loss, and they can give me access to a dietitian when I want to pursue weight loss again. It would be nice to have something cheaper than BistroMD. They have great recipes on their Web site too.

My petition to extend my program at school was approved, but I don't know what the impact of bombing the test will be.

Took a nap and slept through until 12:30 AM. The cats and I were hungry. I’ll go back to sleep after I eat and post. Mimi walked on my computer and put it in airplane mode. Bah.

I ran out of 44 Scotland Street books to read, so I'm reading Jane Lynch's bio. It's good.

I rescheduled my eye appointment for next week. I want to rake on Wednesday because they’re picking up lawn debris on Thursday.

I keep forgetting to post a picture of the salad greens now. I’ll have salads soon! I think that I will get another Aerogarden to grow herbs in the winter.

I swear my workman likes to deliver bad news, but actually it’s Mom’s house delivering the bad news. (It's now issues with the back door steps.) Sigh. Mimi heard me talking to him and decided that I was talking to her!

I'm leaning towards getting an apple tree for the front yard. Fresh apples would be nice! I'm looking at a Honeycrisp apple tree. Oh, and I bought a long hose for the yard. Hmmm, that reminds me that I need to get a sprinkler (done). I'm also looking at articles on how to create a curved garden bed. I need to get stakes to mark out the area for it. I ordered potting soil for the planters and wooden stakes and twine to mark out the garden. I bought some dirt for the planters. I bought some planters for my herbs and tomatoes. Crud. I was going to go out to rake tonight, but it's supposed to rain. I looked online and it seems that Lowe's and Home Depot have herb plants in. I should stop by this weekend and maybe also hit one of the garden shops. Though I might have to do mass quantities of raking on the weekend because it's supposed to rain most of the week.

I found a bookshelf at Target that I really like.

I ran out to get the Short Story box from the car so that I can try on clothes tonight. I'll do that and go through the mail. Probably before I log on again because it's oppressive (hot) up here. My fan will arrive in a day and it won't be soon enough!

And here comes the rain....

Tried to nap but couldn’t sleep. I guess that I’ll work on the mail while it cools off upstairs (done). Oh, and I also need to get the garbage out (done).

I have the dahlias, their pots, and dirt, but I need some stakes for them. I ordered them and some garden gloves to come on Friday.

Hmm. White Flower Farms has an Herb Garden for Cooks. It has plants that I want to get anyway, so I might get it. I'm going to need more pots though. They also have some nice tomatoes and a chive (because mine is sad). Actually, they had a bigger culinary herb garden that I'm getting plus a couple of tomatoes (cherry for salads and full-size for quiches).

I got really hung up on my homework assignment. I'm going to pack it in, even though I didn't do well. I need to work on the next one earlier, but I should be able to do so because my weekend is free except for yard work and homework.

I need to go downstairs and chill, literally.

I'm tired. Tired, tired, tired. In fact, I fell asleep before I turned the light off last night. I think that it's going to be an early night tonight. I can't nap during lunch because I have an appointment at the eye doctor at 1 PM.

The eye doctor appointment went okay. I found a pair of frames that I liked even before I saw the doctor. When I put them on to test whether they'd fit, the person doing the glasses order went, "Oh! They look good on you!" And I spent less than I had budgeted. The glasses should come in in a week. They also want me to come back for an appointment for an exam with my eyes dilated, but I need to check whether I could get a ride. Oh, the appointment is in October.

I got my desk cleared off by putting my printer on the floor, so I can get a monitor for work. Far out.

Took a brief nap. I almost skipped piano class because I was tired, but it was fun. We did some boogie-woogie, which is always fun. Zara got in on the action. Kitty on the keys!

Now I'm going to have dinner and have to do some more work (done). Then I'll start doing my nighttime tasks so that I can get to bed. I go to the office tomorrow.

I made an appointment for a flu shot on Friday at Walgreens.

The Illinois Tax folks say that they need a copy of my W-2, so I need to upload it.

There's a small storm going on. Whoa, there's some loud thunder. Maybe it's not so small a storm. They're predicting rain for hours. I'm glad that I planted the potatoes yesterday.

I need to get some bubble mailers tomorrow so that I can sell some books on Amazon.

Yikes. I called to make an appointment with the eye doctor, and the receptionist kept on getting my information wrong. But finally, I got an appointment in mid-September.

My voice lesson went well. The problems that I was having with my voice magically cleared up. My teacher thought that it might be allergies or lack of sleep. We're now working on one of my favorite songs, "The Dimming of the Day" as covered by Bonnie Raitt.

Did a session of Tai Chi. It would be a good morning activity (if I could pry myself out of bed early, ha!) because it made me feel warmed up and energetic but relaxed. Maybe I could do an abbreviated version once I learn the moves. Or it would make a nice break from sitting at my desk.

Studied Italian. I feel like I'm making progress.

Oh cool. I've made plans to see Randy Rainbow with [personal profile] ljravengirl in Chicago. Oh, does that sounds like fun. I haven't done anything frivolous in a long time.

Practiced piano. Did some knitting practice and got frustrated. I'm still having problems with the Perl stitch, so I dumped what I had and started casting on again.

I uploaded my tax W-2. Hopefully, that will get the tax snafu resolved.
