Mimi is complaining up a storm because I got up later (11:30 AM) than I normally do for work. Mimi, I get to sleep in on my days off.

The weird problem with the WiFi not having access to the Internet on my phone mysteriously went away. I wish that I knew what was causing it.

Got the gym lock set. Mimi got fur on my gym clothes, but I don't have time to wash them. Maybe I could go tomorrow and wash them. Decided to throw them in the wash while I nap.

Napped. Discovered that the clothes in the dryer weren't dry. Worst case, I'll go over to the gym and show then my fitness card and then come back to use the gym.

I'm not going to make it to the gym office. Next Thursday or Friday then. I will run errands, however.

Got my errands run. The tellers at the credit union love that I almost have my car paid off. I bought ingredients for the apple-spinach salad that I Iove plus a bunch of stuff that I didn't really need but looked yummy at Aldi.

Slate's column about raising kids has an atheist's daughter rebelling by going to Quaker Meeting. Hahaha I kind of love that.

I have a strong impulse to get my files in order in the office, but that probably isn't my highest priority. I'll see if I have the file folders that I need. The hanging file folders won't work in my drawer (unless I steal the hardware from my files in storage), so I need to get manila folders.

I lay down for a nap. And slept until 1:30 AM. So much for getting the folders. I got up and fed the cats, who were waiting to be fed, but let me sleep. I wouldn't have blamed them for walking on me.

Looked at hanging file folder frames. Not this month though, unless I use Swagbucks money on it. Swagbucks no longer has a way to transfer money to my Aspiration account, so I guess that I need to get Amazon gift cards. They've really gone downhill.

I made a momentous change. I changed my Live Journal style. I still had an S1 that I had for years. I wasn't able to do "likes" with it though. I'll have to get used to the new style though. It looks weird to me.

Swagbucks has a Disney Park Hopper ticket giveaway, so I entered. Wish me luck....

Woke up at 10:45 AM.

I feel guilty when I use the clothes dryer now, but I didn't allow enough time for the drying rack.

Went grocery shopping after work after debating about it because I didn't have to go until tomorrow. Among other things, I bought a lock for the gym and cheap ankle boots. And the ingredients for my Wendy's salad knockoff with spring mix, strawberries, blueberries, and almonds. And I got gas.

Cats: ABOUT TIME that you got home. FEED US!

The risotto was as good as it was last night. I need to check on what I'll be getting next week.

Need to make the rest of the payment for my blog logo. It's good. I'll post it here when I get the final version.

Tired.

Saw Mom off. Fed the girls and went back to bed.

Slept for another four hours. Found Zara licking Mom's milk glass in the sink. Sigh.

Ate Mom's leftover biscuits and gravy. Felt lethargic, so I logged into Swagbucks to try to wake up. Deposited $25 in my travel savings account. Woo-hoo!

I think that all the excitement about Mom being here has tired the girls out. They're both crashed on the kitchen chairs (not together, of course). I kind of want to join them. I decided that I was too tired to run errands and decided to lie down for a while.

Had a nice nap and a dream in which I was building a wave pool at my house.

Threw towels in the wash.

Something weird is going on on my phone. The New York Times, Swagbucks, and Amazon apps think that I'm not connected to the Internet. I also tried turning off WiFi with the same result. Other apps are working though. I tried rebooting the phone, but that didn't help. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Ate Mom's leftover half of a Frisco melt and some bread pudding.

Zara's falling asleep again.

Started organizing the bedroom. Mimi went, "Oh, you're in the bedroom, so I can lie on you." Umm, Mimi, you are not helping.

Decided that I was too tired to organize. I'm going to do some stuff online and then go back to sleep.

Swagbucks had a deal for applying to VIPKid, to which I wanted to apply anyway, so I started an application. I need to practice a lot before recording a video.

Mom asked for a no-slip bath mat for her shower here, so I looked at one on Amazon. I'll wait to get one through.

I think that I'll read for a while and then go to sleep. Hmm, I'm hungry.

Kept on hitting snooze and ran late. I flew through breakfast though and am back on track.

Got my hair cut and no longer resemble a sheepdog. Got my blood test to check if I'm immune to measles done.

Mom and I had lunch at a local bakery/cafe. It was good. I had a chicken salad sandwich, veggie chips, and BREAD PUDDING! Yum.

Mom and I took a nap for a while. When we got up, we talked for a few hours. I also did laundry, and my (liquid) laundry detergent fell off of my dryer and spilled, and it was a real pain to clean up.

Then Mom wanted to watch CNN, so I logged into Swagbucks. I also sent a down payment to the graphic designer for the logo for my blog. Also looked into blogging insurance because I'll be writing on mental health topics.

We went out to eat at Steak and Shake. We then went to Walmart to get detergent and paper towels (I used over a full roll cleaning up the detergent), and Walmart also had BREAD PUDDING! I snatched it. The guy who rang up the groceries also is a bread pudding fan.

I also discovered that Walmart has Disney gift cards. I could get them for a discount from Target, but that would require a longish drive. Might not be worth it.

Woke up around noon. Talked politics with Mom for a bit and fed me and the girls.

Mom is going out to go to the resale shop and poke around the square a little. I might take a quick nap and then build some of my organizing things.

Took a nap. Built the over-the-toilet shelves. One down.

Threw myself together. Mimi came into the bathroom with me and was rolling around on the bath mat. Goof. I accidentally locked Mom out. I was supposed to leave the door unlocked but automatically locked it.

Mom and I gorged ourselves on biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and eggs. Then we ate carrot cake for dessert. Burp. I'm amazed that I'm still awake.

The pharmacy next door to the restaurant offers meds in little packs for the morning and evening of each day. I'm wondering if I should transfer my prescriptions and try that.

Mom found a couple of Bach and Mozart concert DVDs at the thrift store, so we ran back to get them.

Progress in blogville: I bought a WordPress theme to use and communicated with the graphic designer about the logo.

Did some Swagbucking. I need to go to sleep now because I need to get up early to get my hair cut.

Fun Day

I woke up around 1 PM. Mom is still asleep. I can't believe it. No, she was up for a while. She was watching TV.

Had a leisurely breakfast and fed the hungry girls. Washed some of Mom's clothes. Talked to Mom for a while about politics, mostly.

Started to organize items in the blue baskets that Mom bought me. Mom said that they look cheery. I like them. I was trying to post a picture of them, but I can't seem to send it to myself from my phone. Bother. I was able to get it through Facebook.

Threw myself together. We ate out and then went to the movie Yesterday, which was great fun. Then we went to Culver's for sundaes, and I also picked up a pint of blackberry cobbler custard.

Crap. Swagbucks won't give me credit for signing up for Hulu.

Tried a meal kit delivery service for Swagbucks points and a discount. The first two meals sound scrumptious.

I'm going to get a shoe rack because I really want to get the bedroom organized. It's the worst room in the house.

Zara is knocking papers down in my office, pawing the papers, and lying on them. Sigh. I always have company in here. Usually, it's Mimi though.

Progress

Dragged myself out of bed around 8:30 AM. No call from the dryer repair guy. He finally called around 10, came by, and fixed it.

We had lunch (actually breakfast food) at McDonalds. Then we got my car's headlight fixed.

Mom bought me over-the-toilet shelves and some plastic baskets for organizing.

We decided to lie down for a while. I intended to get up at 9:30 PM, but woke up at 11 PM. Mom appears to still be asleep. Fed the cats, and I'm not sure if I should eat something or not. I finally did, assuming that Mom wasn't going to get up.

Opened a second checking account with PNC. The account is for regular bills; I'll be able to transfer funds to the account from my deposit account, and set up automatic payment. The bank asked when I started my job, so I went to LJ to find out, and wound up reading all the entries about my car spinout, new car, etc. What a mess that was.

Decided that Mom isn't getting up and had some fish and mashed potatoes.

I just heard Mom moving around. She's going back to sleep.

Signed up for my blog site using Bluehost. I get $60.00 worth of Swagbucks from the transaction. Win-win. Now my browser is hanging though.

Okay, it's way late and I need to sleep.

Lazy Day

Had to set my alarm because the lawn mowing guy was going to stop by to pick up money. Got squared away with him.

I'm playing telephone tag with my doctor's office.

Mom is watching the news on CNN.

Got in touch with the dryer repair people.

Saw a video about the Star Wars area at Disney. It looks fabulous. Talked to my mom about it, and she got excited about doing a Disney trip. She thinks that it might be possible to stay at a Disney hotel. I'll keep working towards it.

The doctor's office wants to do a blood test to see if I'm covered for a measles shot or not.

There already is a mini-crisis at work. I had to log on and forward some info to my boss.

Made an appointment for a mammogram. Oh joy.

We all had a nice nap.

Went out for dinner. On the way home, I was stopped by a policeman. Apparently one of my car's headlights was out. He just gave me a warning. I need to get it fixed tomorrow.

Spent a ridiculous amount of time on Swagbucks. Finally got a good survey, and they gave me a $50 off of a $350 purchase on Hotels.com. Nice, but I'm not going anywhere right now. I was working on getting a quote from Liberty Mutual for Swagbucks points, when my computer hung. I was trying to find out when I started my Esurance policy, when I finally thought to search my e-mail for getting the Honda Civic, when I first got the policy, and it worked. Lost my Liberty Mutual application though. I should take AARP's driving course to save on insurance.

I have to get up at the crack of dawn because the dryer repair guy will be coming, so it's long past time to go to sleep.

Woke up after 11 AM. (Can't remember the exact time.) Had a nice, leisurely breakfast. Mimi has been talking a lot, but I just fed them, so she has quieted down.

Had a nice nap. Woke up with the shakes, so I had a sandwich and pie. Zara was aggressively stalking my food. I don't think that I'll ever convince her that some food is for Mommy only.

I keep being blown away about how much better that I can hear.

I'm using Mimi being on my lap as an excuse to delay cleaning.

I cleaned the guest bathroom, bouncing around singing. It's a start. Mimi was using it as a place to throw up hairballs. Yuck.

Cleaned "Mom's bedroom" (the TV room).

Had a quick call with Mom. All systems are "go" for her coming tomorrow.

Made baked cod with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. OMG, was that good. And reasonably healthy.

I'm feeling knocked out by the food though. I'm going to clean up the kitchen and go on Swagbucks for a little while, and then toddle off to bed.

Done with Swagbucks. I'm surprised by how consistently I'm using it, but slow and steady is the way to earn on that platform. And I really want to go to Florida.

days_unfolding: (Default)

Woke up a little before 11 AM. I'm running late, so I'm going to come home for dinner and throw laundry in the washer.

Mimi was rolling around on the floor. Goof.

My roast-beef sandwich at dinner was delicious. I'm new at making food at home (except for frozen dinners), so it always amazes me when I can make something that is as delicious as eating out. The girls were glad to see me, and I was able to start a load of laundry.

Even though I wrote about cooking, I had a frozen pizza when I came home from work for the night. It was good. I'm planning to really cook on Friday.

A Disney Facebook group posted a Marketwatch article about someone who has paid for three trips for her family by Swagbucking. It can be done. Apparently Disney has a tour in which you can get pretty close to the elephants and learn about their care. Mom would love that. I might donate to Save the Elephants in my mom's honor as a Christmas present.

Much kitty drama tonight. Mimi is determined to beat up on Zara. Luckily, I was folding laundry, so I smacked Mimi with a t-shirt. She seems to have calmed down, and now she's in the office with me. Sheesh. It feels hot in here, which might be part of the problem.

Cleared off my mom's chair in the kitchen. Moved my cookbooks on the shelf near the window, and put my library books where the cookbooks used to be. Put laundry on the drying rack. Made my sandwich for tomorrow.

Now I'm going to do Swagbucks for a while. Done. Time to crash.
